This week we’re speaking to Kevin Booker, holder of four Guinness World Records for hypermiling in an electric car. Kevin tells us what it’s like to drive from John o’ Groats to Lands End with just a single charging stop, how an IT specialist got into hypermiling in the first place, and offers some practical advice on how all of us can save time and money by becoming more efficient drivers. We also discuss how developments in EV technology could affect the next generation of vehicles and Kevin explains why, as an efficiency specialist, he thinks a 640bhp SUV could be the car to help accelerate the EV revolution.
This week we’re speaking to Ken McMeikan, CEO of Moto Hospitality about the unique role of motorway services in the EV landscape. Ken discusses the rapid expansion of the country’s ultra-rapid charging network, the challenges operators face in meeting driver demand, and Moto’s ambitions to use its own solar farms to help power charging at its sites.  He also talks about the positive role good motorway charging facilities can play in promoting EVs to more drivers, and the rising importance of catering to electric HGVs alongside passenger and smaller commercial vehicles
