Before the development of electricity and electrical communications, the fastest information could travel was the speed of a horse. Maybe a ship might have been a bit faster depending on the route, but for the most part, the speed of information was limited to the speed of a human.  However, there was one exception to this. It was a communications method that could only carry small amounts of information, it only worked in one direction, and the number of messages you could send was limited, but it was faster than anything else.  It was used for centuries and was still relied upon even after the development of radio. Gary you don't talk too fast. I listen to you at 1.2x. What an odd complaint from people. They have full control over the speed if your voice!

The perfect podcast! Left 5 star reviews on apple, Spotify and Amazon just to show how much my kids and I enjoy our daily dose of learning from you! Our first review comes at today when we have finally listened to every episode. Greetings from Zanesville, Ohio. Oh, and my daughter has a request, she would love to hear you say the words "I actually love candy corn." Thank you Gary!

Great podcast. I install doors. Listen to podcasts all day. Yours is always a go-to. I live right next to the WWVB. You mentioned in an episode that your clock operates off its signal. Two other listening I issue a slight warning as Gary may smell like cheese as he may frequently wear some on his head. All in good fun I actually like the packers broncos fan though.

I thought that “snakes” were paganism and his goal like a lot of “saints” back then was to either convert or kill anyone that worshipped a different God or Gods and he looked down on the people of Ireland and wanted to eradicate their beliefs?
