Everyone knew the headline, Father vs Son, Madison Square Garden, the Pitino bowl. Over 12,000 fans packed the Mecca on Sunday afternoon to see Rick coach his Johnnies to an 85-71 win. Powered by RJ Luis, St. John's improved to 4-0 on the season as Rick Pitino shortened the bench, playing just 8 guys in the first real test of the season. Joined by Zach Braziller of the NY Post, we recap the win, and get you ready for the big week ahead as St. John's flies to The Bahamas for two games in the B...
For the first time since 2019, St. John's found themselves inside the top 25 AP poll when 1:00pm struck on 11/11. A culmination of two dominating wins as well as some fortunate losses across the country and voters didn't just sneak SJU in, they put them in convincingly. While this is just the start of what is hoping to be a special season, this is also hopefully the first wave to coral the fan base into a frenzy to support this basketball team. As big games against New Mexico and in the Baham...
It was a sluggish start, a first half that was worrisome. Okay defense but a lack of energy on offense. Then a halftime pep talk from Coach Pitino woke up the Johnnies who cruised to a 96-73 win over Quinnipiac. We're joined by Kevin Connelly of StormthePaint.com to recap the win and what we all took away from a disjointed performance. Ultimately, the Red Storm ended up on the right side of the scoreboard and there are plenty of positives to take away.Follow the podcast on Twitter:@EyeonStorm...
St. John's kicked off their season playing the Fordham Rams for the 91st time in program history, and they left no doubt. A dominating 92-60 win, that allowed Rick Pitino to empty the bench and showcased a ferocious offense. In front of a Sold Out Carnesecca Arena, St. John's kicked off it's season with a bang. Simeon Wilcher had a career high 17 and Kadary Richmond did what he does, stuff the stat sheet.Follow the podcast on Twitter:@EyeonStormPod = Eye on the Storm Podcast#sjubb

St. John's did everything in their control from February 18th on, they won five games in a row, knocked off Seton Hall on Thursday of the Big East Tournament and went toe to toe again with UConn falling by just 5. 20 wins overall and 11 in the Big East was not good enough to put St. John's in the NCAA tournament as the committee left them on the outside looking in.We're joined by one of the best bracketologists out there Brad Wachtel to help us make sense of it all, why the Big East was disre...
