Here you will find audio commentary of all classic F1 races!
(Usually from the brilliant Murray Walker Where possible)
Unfortunately, over the years, FOM & the FIA have a bad habit of deleting peoples often brilliant F1 related content because of the visuals.
So, here, hopefully being able to just listen to commentary and the beauty that is the various F1 engines over the years will be a joy!

All the talk leading up to this race was not the championship battle, but rather the horrific plane crash that David Coulthard had been involved in the week before. He suffered bruising to his right rib cage and severe elbow grazing, while sadly, Rangers FC Chairman David Murray (Whose plane it was) lost his personal pilot David Saunders and co-pilot Dan Worley in the crash. Jacques Villeneuve was also declared fit to race. At the Brazilian Grand Prix, Villeneuve sustained a back injury...
Mclaren Really needed a strong result at an unusually dated British GP (Mainly because of Easter being later than usual and it was hard to get other venues to change their dates for various reasons). Schumi was on a role, but both he & Mika know exactly how quick fortunes can change in F1. So would the Mclaren - Mercedes combo finally get their first win of the 2000 season? OR would the dominant German go in for 4 wins in a row? Drivers Standings POST Race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schu...
Another brilliant race. Mclarens so far had scored 0 points thanks to the unreliability and DCs DSQ from Brazil. Schumi had won the first 2 races, so could Mclaren finally score and upset the Ferrari powerhorse scampering away? Drivers Standings POST race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 30 2 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 9 3 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 8 4 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 6 5 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 6 6 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 5 7 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 4 = | ...
After a strong start for Ferrari, could they continue at a track where Mclaren & especially Mika Hakkinen has been so dominant the last few years? Or would the reliability of the Silver team creep its way back in? Schumacher would break a record at this race and Young Jenson Button would score his first points in only his second race. *Note & BIG SPOILER* David Coulthard was Disqualified after the race due to an illegal front wing endplate. McLaren submitted an appeal with the Fédér...

This is it. Eddie Irvine leads Mika Hakkinen by 4 points. The pressure was on the Mclaren, simple.. He HAD to win the race to win the championship, regardless of where Irvine finished. IF Mika finished 2nd, He would be world champion if Eddie finished no higher than 5th. Eddies last race for Ferrari before he went to Jaguar for 2000, could he take the number 1 spot with him? Also, this would be the last race for Damon Hill, Tora takagi, Alex Zanardi & the Stewart Team. See you in 2000! ...
DRAMA! The first ever Malaysian GP was an epic one as, not only did the championship battle heat up with 2 rounds to go, Michael Schumacher was back and boy, was he back with a bang! With Frentzen & DC Effectively out, this was between Eddie & Mika.. So, who would come out, on top in the heat of Malaysia? This would also be Johnny Herberts 29th & Last points finish in F1. Another fun stat - Eddie Irvine had 4 wins, and only 4 front row starts in his career. *Ferrari were DQed af...
This race goes down as one of the most exciting races of all time. Whatever could go wrong for 85% of the field did go wrong, and what we ended up with was one of the most insane podiums and winner in F1 history. A new team would win, An Italian would take his first EVER podium (But the last for his team) Minardi also scored their first point since the 1995 Australian GP with Pedro Lamy! The championship battle had to take a back seat with this one! Drivers Standings AFTER race:- 1 | (F...
As the tense 1999 Title fight draws to an ever closer close, this is one race Mika & Eddie NEEDED to do well at, Especially for Eddie at Ferraris home track. However, it would be anything but that and one HUGE moment for Mika would swing the championship wide open! Heinz-Harald Frentzen would also be suddenly thrust upon the title fight as well.. Mclaren vs Ferrari Vs Jordan! This would also be the last ever race win for the winner and for engine suppliers Mugen. This would also be ...
With the drivers championship heating up, we return to the scene where just one year earlier, the crashes of all crashes happened. Luckily, this time it was dry and Coulthard had a decent race. But what about Hakkinen & Irvine? What about Frentzen who was in the battle too? Also, this WOULD be the 56th and last time 1996 Champion Damon Hill would score championship points. (Also, the fact that Schumi was still in 5th place in the championship was amusing) Drivers Standings AFTER the rac...
Things were looking desperate at the top for the Mclaren boys.. They NEEDED a strong result here! Could Eddie keep up his momentum or would the ever present Jordan of H-H Frentzen spoil the party? Drivers Standings POST race:- 1 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 56 2 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 54 3 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 36 4 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 36 5 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 32 6 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 22 7 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 13 8 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 12 9 | (FIN...
After a brilliant win for Eddie last time out, could he continue the streak and put a dent on Mikas world title ambitions? Well, not if the Finn, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and team-mate Mika Salo had anything to do with it! This was by far & away Salos best race and o, what could have been! More drama as well with Damon Hill, who apparently retired a healthy car, seemingly pointing at his overall retirement again. Drivers standings AFTER the race:- 1 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 52 2 | (FIN) Mika...
After the horrific leg breaking crash for Michael Schumacher at the last round in Britain, F1 returned to the classic Austrian track with Mclaren looking to take advantage and Eddie Irvine trying to become the new title challenger. How would a Schumacher-less race go for the Scuderia with Mika Salo replacing the German. This would also be the last race Pedro Diniz would score points in. Drivers standings AFTER the race:- 1 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 44 2 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 42 3 | (DEU)...
F1 Full Race Audio coverage for the British GP 1999 with ITV Commentary! In an already, somewhat chaotic & Unpredictable 1999 continued with one of the surprises of the season. One of the biggest shunts of the year would happen to one of the title contenders and rule him out of racing for a few months. Amazingly, the red flag you will here in lap one only came about because Race Director Charlie Whiting accidentally hit the red flag button instead of the pit exit open button. That is w...
F1 Full Race Audio coverage from the French GP at Magny Cours 1999 with ITV Commentary. This was a classic race for the ages. Wet all weekend saw Rubens Barrichello in the Stewart start from pole, With Jean Alesi Sauber 2nd, and Olivier Panis Prost 3rd. The race would dice back and forth between Rubinho, Mclaren & Ferrari but one very surprising winner would emerge. This race also saw Damon Hill announce his retirement from the sport at the end of the year. Drivers standings post race:-...
With the Ferraris flying, this could be a race where they break away from the quicker, yet more fragile Mclaren. This race, however, would be where the very last chicane got its now infamous "Wall of Champions" name, and one of those champions would make life harder for himself. If you enjoy this, make sure to share with a friend & 5 Star rate it :) If you enjoy Gaming and the darker side of controversies that come with it (Murder, Streamers, Studios and more) Check out my other podcast...
F1 was back in Spain as the title fight continued to heat up! The Mclarens were fast but slightly unreliable. The Ferraris seemed fast and reliable, but Mika was a specialist on this track in 1998, could he turn a bit of a disappointing 1999 into a good one? Well, not if the boys in red had anything to do about it. Mika Hakkinen was also the first ever Finnish driver to achieve 20 Front row starts! Drivers standings Post Race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 30 2 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 24 ...
Back to the streets of the Principality where the famous Scarlet Red Vs Silver battle continued. With Eddie Irvine also hitting form, could this be another brilliant race for them? This was Ruben Barrichellos 100th start! (The 4th Brazilian to do so) Mika Salo also continued in the BAR with Ricardo Zonta out injured still. Drivers Standings POST Race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 26 2 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 18 3 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 14 4 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 13 5 | (DEU) ...
This was meant to be another straight forward fight for the win. Mclaren VS Ferrari, Mika VS Michael. As it would turn out, it would be anything other than that. A HUGE moment would transform the race and with other surprising moments happening, it was left to a familiar face to win, but someone elses first podium since 1997. This was also Saubers 100th Grand Prix start (The 22nd constructor to achieve the milestone) Drivers standings post race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 16 2 | (GBR) ...
Back at Interlagos after an incredibly eventful opener in Australia where we saw a First time GP Winner... Could he be the surprise package and continue on? Or would it be as it was last season, where Mika Hakkinen & Michael Schumacher were just too damn good! Notes:- Luca Badoer missed this race due to an injured hand. Stephane Sarrazin (The Prost test driver) took his place which would ultimately be his only F1 statrt. Ricardo Zonta also did not take part in qualifying or the race due t...
