Derek Stein and his wife Cindy run the Coxhill herd of Beef Shorthorn cattle based at Coxhill Farm, Moffat. Derek is the son of a Northern irish farmer, from a large family he made his own way in farming and moved over to Scotland to manage farms before taking on a tenancy and eventually buying his own farm. Michael Cursiter farms the family farm at Laga Farm on Mainland Orkney. There they run a flock of pure lleyn ewes and also a flock of romney x and pure shetland ewes. He farms along with is wife Ruth, son Sean and brother Martin. Many of you will know Sean from The Sheep Game and This Farming Life.

This week Colin and Issy Laird join us for a walk round Blyth Farm near Peebles. There they milk over 500 holstein cows on Lely robots as well as a handful of Jersey cows. They are an incredibly successful show herd having won multiple titles including UK Dairy Day twice. We are also joined by Herd Manager Graeme shares some insights into working at such a large unit.

Adam Sinclair is a Stirling lad who used his genetic gifts of size and strength to make it big on the rugby pitch. In this podcast we speak about his time playing rugby in France South Africa and England. Niall Jeffry is a member of the QMS board and has an active role in steering the direction of the Farm Assurance scheme. Ewen McMillan farms at Lurg and Townhead farm near Fintry. There he runs Scottish Blackface sheep, Cheviot Sheep and Jacob sheep along with a fold of Highland Cattle.
