Ed is LIVE Monday - Friday, midnight - 5am, his All-Night Show on 94.9 The Rock, therock.fm and The Rock app! And yes, you can call him live!
In this week's episode, Ed the Sock and Liana Kerzner talk about people who speak with confidence but are full of sh*t, why Gen X were the last generation to have a real childhood, misleading product names, that new & improved is typically the former not the latter and other subjects they use to swing between topics like Tarzan using vines in the jungle.
Stephen Lautens and Steven Kerzner discuss bike lanes - or Doug Ford's hatred of them; Pierre Poilievre is sinking....will the by-election on August 18 turn his status to 'sunk'?; the reason top legal firms, media corporations and elite universities are bowing to Trump's demands; the Trump takeover of Washington D.C. and what it means for the rest of the US; and more.
The best of the week from the All-Night Show!
This show goes in an unplanned direction as Ed's mention of a somewhat common injury a man may accidentally inflict upon his manhood leads to Sherry, Donna and Triple T adding to the discussion...which was never intended to be a discussion. Also, Chuck in the Truck is back with more tales of 'psychic occurrences' he has experienced recently and yes, he believes it. And Liana Kerzner's Getting Through the Night discussion of 'Persuasion vs Manipulation' turns into a bit of a tug-of-war with Ed!
This week Ed the Sock and Liana Kerzner break down the diplomatic masterstroke of PM Carney's statement on recognizing Palestine, bust-up the notion that "Judeo-Christian" is a real thing, talk about Hollywood reboots vs revivals, Superman vs Fantastic Four at the movies and sundry other topics along the way.
As nations, universities, legal firms and more capitulate to Donald Trump's bullying, Canada has been refusing to bend the knee. Will this work out in our favour or not?
"It's like the 80s died this week!"says Liana as she and Ed talk about the passing of Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Hulk Hogan and Ozzy Osbourne before wading into the problem of boys being a-holes, the Hockey Canada verdict and why they both loved the new "Superman" movie (it wasn't just the dog).
From her Wellness Wednesday episode of last week, Liana Kerzner discusses the interplay between people's sense of morality and their pre-release attitudes towards James Gunn's new Superman film (note, this was recorded before Liana saw - and loved -the movie. Twice.)
This week Ed the Sock and Liana Kerzner talk about how the new Superman movie is a handy way to identify MAGA morons, how learning from monkeys could bring an end to gun violence (hint: poop) and Killer Whales showing some really shocking new behaviour toward humans!
UPDATE: Ed and Liana each saw "Superman" and loved it.

Prime Minister Carney is successfully drawing the support of conservatives away from Poilievre's Conservative Party, but not all Liberals are happy about it. This and more as Stephen Lautens and Steven Kerzner bring their moderate, centrist analyses to Canadian politics.
"I am Woke - come at me!" Ed the Sock challenges in the week's episode, as he and Liana Kerzner look at how the term Woke means nothing and everything at the same time, deconstruct a New York Times ranking of the 21st century's most 'important' movies and how they pale in comparison to movies from the 1980s, the Hollywood hypocrisy of the Diddy verdict and why American Christian Nationalists would deport Jesus.
Under Donald Trump and a cadre of billionaires, America has cast millions of Americans into a greater spiral of poverty while the ultra-rich laugh. It looks like Game Over for US democracy. Is America's decline irreversible? Also, has PM Carney's brand of blue Liberalism pushed Pierre Poilievre past his best-before date? And how does Doug Ford successfully keep distance between his record and his popularity?
This episode Ed the Sock and Liana Kerzner discuss bra sizes, acceptable euphemisms for female breasts; George Carlin's 7 Words You Can't Say on Television, Boxcar Willie, The Three Stooges and Hammy Hamster, And more,
Stephen Lautens and Steven Kerzner discuss Israel's bombing of Iran's military and nuclear targets, Iran's response and Trump weighing in to play with his toys.
This episode, Ed the Sock and Liana Kerzner say goodbye to a show team member; someone put something in Liana's mouth that caused her great discomfort; the guy in the Trivago commercial with the inhumanly white teeth; fear of death or lack thereof; Ed's unusual pick to play James Bond; mocking old people; idiots reading too much into movies and Liana demonstrates her remarkable breath control by reciting the whole McDonald's menu from memory with very few pauses to inhale.
In this episode, Ed the Sock and Liana Kerzner pay tribute to the recently decease Muchmusic personality and Electric Circus host Juliette Powell, talk about deceitful rice cakes , dollar store electronics, phony Muchmusic Leftists, American Christians removing that pesky Christ from Christianity, Flintstone vitamins, Heterosexual Pride Month and what really bothers some people about LGBTQ+ Pride Month and the best American sitcom currently on streaming.
Stephen Lautens and Steven Kerzner talk about the continuing crisis that is the modern world.
This episode, Liana is concerned about the fallout of the Trump/Musk Kaiju fight while Ed just keeps cackling with joy; Ed has a Pride Month money-making scheme involving the tanned, fit, young shirtless roofers working on his house; yelling about "The Patriarchy" does not help fight the patriarchy; why Trump voters seem so clueless (hint: they're clueless) and who is to blame for the rising (ahem) cost of circumcisions in Ontario (hint: his name isn't dick, but he's been called that. A lot)?
Why do we need Pride Month? Why isn't there a Heterosexual Pride Month? Ed answers both questions as only Ed can.
Some words to advice from a woman to men on traditionally 'manly' approaches and attitudes that may be backfiring on you.
Ed needs to accept that, like me, he's getting old
Steven Joel Kerzner, you, your, wife, your friends, everyone on this podcast network and everyone that thinks like you all are pathetic wastes of human life.
You both (and everyone that thinks like you) are fucking pathetic. And you people talk about building bridges HA! The culture, hatred, division will NEVER end and people like yourselves are part in cause of it. There will NEVER be compromise, there are only winners and losers. And hope either people like you lose or all your beliefs/ideologies backfire on you horribly because it's what you fucking deserve. I wish nothing, but suffering on you all.
I have no respect for leftist ideology. I believe it's too easily hijacked and you "moderates" can't control the the farther left. Ironically enough, something I've actually seen the right too better. And for the past 4 years you've cared more about Trump and the right that you've ignored how much ground the far left has been taking in politics and especially culture. Sure you may touch on their nonsense in culture from time to time, but it clearly was never a majority priority, more like a hobby. And not after 4 years of that plus the momentum/encouragement the far left has received (once again, apparently the riots just never happened), it's created a monster that you can't fight and the average person isn't willing to fight or too scared. So I look forward to seeing your reactions when you finally realize this too late. P.S. Neither side was going to accept the election results, but only the left was going to riot if they lost. And I'm suppose to think you're the righteous side look
I hope everyone's ready for the great reset. Especially leftists on this network. If you're in support of this, well then too bad, here it comes baby.
[To whoever runs this network and gets notifications of comments, are they actually been shown to the people who's podcasts I comment on or am I just talking to the wind?] This podcast is (apparently) suppose to be about "critical thinking," but just consists of two people which the exact same opinions agreeing on EVERYTHING, ironic. If you two ever decide one day to have a guest on with an opposing viewpoint, I'd love to hear a discussion with Matt Christiansen. I highly doubt that'll ever happen because it goes against two people with the exact same opinions agreeing on everything they talk about. Or maybe out of a subconscious fear that you might have your minds changed or your view on something might be wrong.
I forget to mention this as well: I find it so funny that you two are complaining about Trump and Republicans being hypocrites with filling RBG's seat (and I agree they are being hypocrites), which Trump has the legal power to do, but fail to point out how so are the Democrats. Both sides are being hypocrites on this fight. Both change their opinions whenever they're the ones in power. I'm aware you two of leftists bias, but the fact that you came at this point as if the Republicans were the only ones being hypocrites should be a wake up call to just how partisan you two actually are.
Trump isn't insane. You can say Trump isn't the brightest, but you call him insane or even evil is insane in of itself. Are we just gonna ignore the absurdity of Russiagate because leftists and Democrats couldn't handle the fact that they lost an election, a lot of which still believe Trump colluded with Russia to rig the election lol. The REAL reason Trump has a very good chance at being re-elected is the same reason he won in 2016. There were multiple reasons Trump won in 2016 (a lot of which are repeating themselves), but the MAIN reason was fear and anger of leftist authoritarianism (that's only gotten much worse since then). People with take a Trump over cancel culture, political/ideological lecturing, riots, business being looted/destroyed/burned, homes vandalized, intimidation, being harassing and attacked for not choosing a side or choosing the "wrong side" etc. Trump is a direct reaction to the leftist's behavior. And while that's the ONLY thing you two got right regarding th
Once again, you strawman my Breaking Bad comment. My issue was not you not liking Walter White or even Breaking Bad, that's just you having bad taste, I'm fine with people having bad taste. My issue was with the two of you somehow not understanding the appeal of shows like Breaking Bad and using those shows as a psychology profile for the people that like it, claiming it's because of nihilism. Because apparently people don't consume media for entertainment anymore in your minds? It's shows your holier-than-thou, fake intellectual, condescending, elitist mentality.
I have a hard time taking anything you two have to say regarding the U.S. election/politics seriously when one of you hasn't acknowledged (or condemned) the 100+ days of riots, looting, violence etc. committed by leftists activists and the other seems to be in favor of it. Or even how it all effects the average person politically. No instead every episode I listen to is just an hour or two of "Orange man and Republicans bad." I'm not voting come November, but I hope Trumps wins just out of spite of leftists and people like you two.
The confusion and theories you two have about why people like shows like Breaking Bad is beyond ridiculous. You can't wrap their heads around simply liking a show because of the writing, acting, cinematography? When a piece of media suddenly become a physiological/moral profile of the person that enjoys it? Liking the writing of Breaking Bad and Walter White now means I'm just a bad person that enjoys seeing someone worse than me? Breaking Bad's (and Better Call Saul's) writing is objectively one of the best. With only 5 seasons and 62 episodes it cemented itself as one of the best/most icon shows of all time. As well has cementing it's lead character of Walter "Heisenberg" White as a pop culture icon and gold standard in character development/writing. P.S. I never claimed you didn't like Better Call Saul, here's what I said: "Breaking Bad's (and Better Call Saul's) writing is objectively one of the best EVER." NOTHING in that statement is me saying you don't like Better Call Saul, I d
