Description

Faithfully Podcast Books talks with authors to get beyond the pages of their work. We discuss new books, old books, editing, and the writing process; and we make recommendations, share new releases in books, highlight stories about authors, and more. We gain insights and inspiration from authors and their works to help listeners better understand their faith, the world, and how to walk effectively in both. Hosted by Nicola A. Menzie. Produced by Christian news and culture publication Faithfully Magazine (faithfullymagazine.com), owned and operated by Faithfully Media, LLC.

Jackie Hill Perry, a poet, hip-hop artist, and speaker, discusses her new book, Gay Girl, Good God: The Story of Who I Was, and Who God Has Always Been, with Faithfully Podcast Books host Nicola A. Menzie. Perry says at the age of 19, God called her out of a lesbian lifestyle--but not to be straight. God called her to Himself. She goes into detail about what all of that means and what Christians should understand about same-sex attraction and about trusting God. Perry also explains her recent public warning to women who go out of their way to tempt her husband and about former label mate and close friend, J.Givens, coming out as gay and the responses that attracted earlier this year. Anthony Evans, singer/songwriter and worship leader, talks about his debut memoir, "Unexpected Places: Thoughts on God, Faith, and Finding Your Voice," with Faithfully Podcast Books host Nicola A.
