Description

Every house is haunted. In each episode of Family Ghosts, we investigate the true story behind a mysterious figure whose legend has followed a family for generations. Grandmothers who were secretly jewel smugglers, uncles who led double lives, siblings who vanished without a trace, and other ghostly characters who cast shadows over our lives in ways that might not be immediately obvious. We are all formed in part by our familial collections of secrets, intrigues, and myths. By engaging with each others’ legends, perhaps we can see each others’ realities more clearly. Hosted by Moth Grand Slam winner Sam Dingman, whose stories have been featured on NPR, Risk!, TBTL, and The Moth Radio Hour.

I only found this podcast today and this episode had me sobbing in my car. Thank you for the vulnerability that you share in these stories.

Ohh, I cried with Posy. It must be so painful for her to remember her mum. So many conflicting emotions. Love to you Posy, and your sister.

I met Frank once, talked on the phone with him a couple of times. He was a nice, quiet unassuming man. He stopped by my office to pick up something, I knew he was stopping by but I still jumped a little when I saw him. He looked just like his father. I said "hi Mr Sinatra", he responded call me Frank, Mr Sinatra was my Grandfather". ( Or did he say dad? It was a good 15 years ago...)

Coincidentally, I've between watching the entire Homicide series over the last few months and recently saw the episode inspired by Eddy Crane's murder.

I didn't care much for this episode either. It was difficult to follow, disjointed and boring. This is usually a good podcast so I'll chalk it up as a one off.
