Our pastor and teacher Matt VanderVen is taking us through Revelation one verse at a time, and our plan is to finish up chapter seventeen this week. We hear it in the ecumenical movement of our day… all roads lead to God. And during the Tribulation that will only intensify, when there will be a one world religion that resembles humanism and relativism. Pastor Matt points out today how the antichrist will use it for a time to lead people away from Christ, but then do a 180.

That’s predicted in Revelation seventeen, and that’s where we’re headed on His Perfect Love. There are quite a number of religions in the world today. Statistics tell us that Islam is growing in great numbers. Buddhism is very popular too. Actually there are only two belief systems in this world – belief in Jesus, or belief in a false religion. As we study Revelation seventeen today, keep that in mind, because as we see the judgment of Mystery Babylon, we notice the results of mankind's decision to follow and worship the antichrist instead of Jesus Christ.

Last time we were together we learned about a massive earthquake that will occur during God’s final judgement. But today we’ll see that is followed up with hail from heaven, the size of 75-120 pounds. Imagine that! Hail is often used by God as a tool of judgement, and we certainly see that in this Great Tribulation.

There have been some massive earthquakes over the years. The largest one recorded was the Great Chilean Earthquake back in May of 1960. Magnitude 9.5! But none come close to the one predicted to happen at the end of the Great Tribulation. We’ll tell you about it today on His Perfect Love as we enter a section of Revelation chapter sixteen that describes God’s final judgement when He shakes the earth!
