We breakdown what Nintendo is and why it is the way it is! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Before the internet blew up, pictures carried an enormous amount of value. If you grew up in the 90s, you must have spent hours browsing the horror section of a blockbuster. Perhaps you collected trading cards before there was a game to them and just stared at them like myself? Our expectations of art has come a long way since the 90s; let's discuss! There are many emotions evoked when playing video games. Sometimes these include passion, excitement and even rage or frustration. In this episode, Chef Atari and I place our phony alpha exteriors aside to discuss the times where games have made us cry and touched us on a deep emotional level. Learn more about your ad choices. Nintendo had a huge impact on my life, but then again there was a period of time where it had absolutely zero impact on my life. I am joined by resident Nintendo expert Adam Sand! In this week's episode, we reminisce about the beauty of the Nintendo brand and fill in the gap of my life when Nintendo was completely absent. This topic will definitely be featured in future episodes as we just barely scratched the surface of Nintendo's massive impact on pop culture. Learn more about your ad choices. Back in the days of collecting cards just for the sake of collecting them and waiting patiently for the newest episode of our favorite superhero shows, there was a completely different line up of top-tier Marvel characters. Even today, we pull from the same pool of characters but for multiple reasons, the top tier just doesn't look the same as it once did! Chef Atari and I discuss this matter with immense passion. About choosing to be the middle in RPGS where you can be 'bad' or 'good' - there's a franchise of rpgs by the name of Shin Megami Tensei, where the sole rule is to "not tip the balance between order and chaos", which in the game indirectly means, to get the True/Neutral ending, you have to be neither good nor bad. In those games though, it's hard to be neutral, in SMTIV the game pushes your buttons, instead of black and white, good or evil, there is lawful order, and chaotic freedom, you stand in the middle and if you choose either one or the other you get the short end of the stick. The game's morality with its mythical gods, goddesses, demons and whatnot, takes from the Egyptian's religion which centered around this belief, the "Rules of Nature", so to speak, to live in accordance with nature and not "tip the balance" with your heart being heavier or lighter than the feather on the scale (though I think lighter than the feather also gave you a good afterlife). Thought it would be interesting to mention.
