Fandom Femmes is back, babies! After a year-long hiatus, it’s only fitting that this month’s episode is themed around time skip and time travel. Justine and Noelle are recording in-person for the first time to share what they’ve been up to the past year, discuss time tropes in their favorite media, and share what’s in store for Season 2! This episode contains spoiler alerts for certain media that we talk about like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Your Name, etc.
Our Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration continues with an interview with dancer and video producer Ky! You might know them from their chaotic KPOP parody dance covers or their work behind the scenes of Youtube’s “KPOP Evolution” and Fuse’s “Shine True.” In this episode, we talk about stepping into our power, exploring queerness in and through KPOP, and more. Check out Ky’s Youtube channel @kythecreator27 and on other social media @oneofakynd27.
We’re kicking off our Asian Pacific American Heritage Month series by sharing our thoughts on Avatar parallels, Southeast Asian representation, and GAYS? In “Raya the Last Dragon.” [THIS EPISODE CONTAINS SPOILERS] (Noelle's mic was having technical difficulties this time around, so please enjoy her raspy voice.)
May is Mental Health Awareness Month so we sat down with Mary Stowe of Anime for Humanity to talk about mental health portrayals in anime, our favorite comfort shows, and more! Anime for Humanity is a 501©(3) non-profit charity dedicated to using anime, cosplay, and video games as a medium to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health. Visit their website to learn more: animeforhumanity.org
As April is coming to an end, we sat down with Bamboo and Glass to share their experiences as classical musicians as we talk about the anime “Your Lie in April.” We dive into times music has reached us, how accurate the instrument playing in the anime is, comparisons between competitive classical music culture and competitive dance and more! Check out Bamboo and Glass wherever you listen to podcasts and follow @bambooandglass on Instagram!
