A 15-point performance would've been a decent stat, but with goose eggs in a number of other categories, we're a bit worried about Tyrese Maxey. The James Harden effect has seemingly hit Maxey's fantasy value real hard. Good for Harden owners, not so good for Maxey owners. He'll probably get a few good games here and there, plus Harden might cool off from this hot start at some point, but we'll be watching Maxey's production closely.
Anthony Davis owners gasped for air after seeing him hit the ground hard hip first. Every fall of AD is magnified and we hope that this one won't cause him to miss time.
John Wall's return was very successful to the delight of those who took a chance on him in the later rounds of drafts. He looks healthy, and just ready to go and his upside is quite high for someone picked last so enjoy the ride.
Kawhi Leonard also returned and only played 21 minutes. Hopefully this is just the Clippers slowly ramping up his activity and not a season long plan, otherwise it's going to be frustrating.

Day 1 of the NBA season was nothing extraordinary. The good thing is that every top player did their job for our fantasy team. A couple of guys disappointed a bit, but we'll give them the pass, it's just the first game anyway.

One thing in common about these next 4 teams is that they have this seemingly one forgotten star in their lineup. The Portland Trailblazers had pretty much a forgettable season which can also be said about their star Damian Lillard, who last year surprised and frustrated owners with the announcement of an injury that derailed his season. The Sacramento Kings had De'Aaron Fox who was one of our favorite sleepers last year only to disappoint us. The Toronto Raptors had OG Anunoby whose "breakout" season has yet to come to fruition. He now seemingly has been overtaken by last season's Rookie of the Year Scotty Barnes. Finally, the Washington Wizards had Bradley Beal who was a first rounder last season like Lillard but was also marred by injuries and poor play.
So what should we expect this season from these teams and their stars? Most of these stars have fallen off the draft board, but they will still be valuable and could end up being of great value this year. Who are also some players that can emerge as good value picks for these teams?

The biggest question in this group of teams is the return of Zion Williamson. What type of Zion will we see post injury? He is one player that burned a lot of managers who took a gamble on him last season. Is he worth another shot? Where do we pick him?
The Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns are pretty much on a status quo. But that could mean some players here are being overlooked and can possibly be drafted on good value.

The Los Angeles Clippers are one of the favorites to win it all this season just because they have one of the deepest rosters in the league especially now that Kawhi Leonard is set to return. For fantasy purposes though, not everyone will be as valuable as they were last season. Who among the Clippers will be fantasy relevant to start the season?
On the other hand, city rivals the Los Angeles Lakers are probably the opposite of the Clips with just a handful of players worth picking during drafts. The big question though is Russell Westbrook. In fantasy, some love him, others hate him, there's no in between. After last season's atrocious performance, can he still be a viable option in fantasy?
How high are you willing to pick Ja Morant who is one of the "favorite" early round picks in some drafts. Is he really worth that second round pick or even first round? Can Desmond Bane repeat his performance last season?
In Miami, we're tired of the "soft" Jimmy Butler but can we expect a bounce back year for Kyle Lowry?

Finally, the Donovan Mitchell trade happened and it was not New York. The Cleveland Cavaliers made a surprise move on former Jazz star Mitchell acquiring him while trading Colin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen and a bunch of picks. How does this bode for the fantasy value of Mitchell as he now plays alongside Darius Garland? Meanwhile for Garland, who had a great fantasy season last year, how will this impact the major stride he made last season?
