Hello Fellow Junkies, we're excited to celebrate our first year of hosting this podcast. Like we said, this was a long time coming, from joking around about doing this podcast to actually coming together and doing it. Now a year later, we're still going at and getting more comfortable as well. We're doing our best in bringing you great things that you might have missed in the media and some different point perspective. This episode we discuss Louis Vuitton's Menswear division pulling anything and everything relating to Michael Jackson in the midst of the HBO documentary scandal. Which is interesting because their LV F/W19 collection was in many ways an homage to the late entertainer. We move to Fashion and the disable and their lack of apparel targetted to them. We discuss the fashion part of the latest College Entrance scandal in US history and the effects it has on fashion. We close with a lengthy conversation about the relaunch of the Baby Phat brand. This is Gustavo, writing this podcasts summary. I felt the need to write this as an homage to the truly last Emporer of French Fashion. As you all know, Karl Lagerfeld passed away about a week or so ago, and with that comes the end of a tremendous legacy, an innovative designer, and lastly perhaps the last FASHION designer ever left. Obviously, not discrediting any of the currently established designers but Karl Lagerfeld was on his league of his own. Over 50 years as a designer and an extensive resume, that Lagerfeld shaped the fashion world of the 20th and 21st century. Helming the French Houses of Chanel, Chloé, Fendi and his own. He truly understood the demands of the clientele. I can say with all honesty that the Chanel Haute Couture and Martier's d'Art shows were the most inspiring. Lagerfeld really pushed the envelope for the brand, always finding new ways to reinterpret the houses DNA. Showing us new ways to wear tweed, the combination of black and white, and the many ways to accessorize jewelry. A big Bravo! to the production team. They have turned the Grand Palais into many amazing production sets that were well paired with each collection. Which was your favorite? The Chanel Grocery Store? Versailles Gardens? The inside of a casino? Passitirere? the iceberg? or the feeling of sitting under the Eiffel Tower? Whichever it is, they are surely embedded in our minds. But for the rest of us that never truly met him and only know of him through videos, print and social media, we have his legacy to inspire us for the next 50 years. Lagerfeld would have wanted the current fashion designers to keep looking forward, and that is what we will do. Fashion Junkies!! Listen Subscribe to iTunes

As we're putting this post together, we hear the news that Aretha Franklin has passed away. The Queen of Soul has gone to heaven to sit on her rightful throne. Franklin has left us an amazing legacy, a voice for the generations, a civil rights activist that broke global boundaries. I think this post is appropriate as we the Fashion Junkies have a conversation about Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2018. Martia discusses the amazing creations of Ralph & Russo, Ellie Saab's structured and traditional, Chanel's edgy, baroque and new young Hollywood silhouettes, and finally, Dolce and Gabbana's Alta Moda in Lake Cuomo. Gustavo discusses the return of traditional feminity at Christian Dior, new couture techniques at Fendi's more than fur show, and a simple, elegant yet futuristic homage tribute to Hubert de Givenchy by Clare Waight Keller.
