Strange doesn't need to have a conversation - he already knows the outcome. He just confirms to Tony that the last-ditch plan he just though of of in the moment that he would never otherwise have tried (get close enough to thanos to transfer his nantes, steal the gems and use their combined power himself, guaranteeing his own death), is now the only option.
