25 years has gone since one of the most progressive agendas for women’s rights and gender equality came about: The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. As time has gone by, feminists around the world are taking stock, where are we now and how far has we yet to go in our quest for social and gender justice?

Listen to interviews with activists from around the world that was conducted at the regional Beijing+25 forums in Europe/Central Asia and Asia-Pacific. The podcast is led by Women’s Major Group (WMG), hosted by Young Feminist Europe, the Beam Magazine, WECF and APWLD.

For the sixth episode of Feminists Want System Change podcast at the Asia-Pacific Beijing+25 Platform for Action regional meeting, Lean Bayle Arcega Deleon speaks with women's rights activist Yevgeniya Kozyreva, head of women's rights organisation Feminist League in Kazakhstan. Yevgeniya talks about the 27 year long journey of Feminist League and women's rights movement in Kazakhstan fighting sexual violence through laws and her belief that "everything will be good" because of the new generation of feminist activists continuing their fight.

Olga talks about the journey of her organisation immediately after the Beijing Platform for Action in 1994 and the growth women's rights have seen in Kyrgyzstan since then, especially against "bride kidnapping", a violent and exploitative practice against women with roots in the deep seated patriarchal community.
