* Do you spend hours on Pinterest pinning beautiful images?
* Do you go over to a friend’s house and have decor envy?
* Do you wonder where to start when it comes to decorating your house?
* Are you frustrated every time you walk into your house because you haven’t taken any action on decor?
* Do you wish you could create a cozy home on a budget?
Friend, I’ve been there...
This podcast inspires REAL moms with REAL homes and REAL budgets to transform their houses into homes they love. You will learn affordable and practical decorating tips, tricks, DIY tutorials, and more. I teach home owners how break through the barrier of what’s keeping them stuck in their home design, while also encouraging them to tell their home’s story from within by living a life of intention with the people they share their home with. My mission is to equip you with all the how-tos so you can decorate a home you love walking in to; a home you are confident in, that feels cozy and comfortable; a home that feels cohesive and put together.
Hey, I’m Dani - a former First Grade teacher turned home decorator. Going from a dual income to a single income so I could stay home with my babies meant budget - like Ramen eating, Goodwill shopping budget and I learned a few things along the way: how to bring BIG style to your home without breaking the bank. And I’ve put it all together in this podcast so you know where to start, what to buy and where to hang it!
If you’re ready to break free from the Pinterest perfect trap and decorate your home with style by making confident decisions (all without taking out a second mortgage) - this podcast is for you!
So put down that sledgehammer, grab your paintbrush and let’s get started!

Have you ever walked through Target or Home Goods in the fall and felt the tug to load up your cart with pumpkins, cozy throws, and autumn-scented candles—only to get home and realize nothing really works together?
You’re not alone.
One of the biggest mistakes women make when decorating for a new season is buying the latest home décor items before they know their design style. Without clarity, those seasonal finds end up feeling random, mismatched, and more like clutter than cozy. The truth is, no amount of fall pillows or faux pumpkins will make your home feel like you if you don’t first know what your style actually is.
In this episode, we’re diving into:
Why impulse-buying seasonal décor can lead to decision fatigue, overwhelm and regret
The common pain points women face when they want a beautiful home but don’t know where to start
The shift that happens when your home finally reflects your unique style and feels warm, inviting, and cohesive year-round
Friend, you deserve more than a house full of “stuff.” You deserve a home that looks and feels like you—a space you can’t wait to come home to and are proud to invite others into.
That’s exactly why I created a free workshop: 3 Steps to Creating a Home You Can’t Stop Gushing About. Inside, you’ll learn how to identify your design style, the fundamentals that make decorating simple, and how to confidently create a home that feels intentional, cozy, and joy-filled.

Have you ever looked around your home and thought, “Why doesn’t this feel like me?” Or maybe you’ve made decorating choices that cost more than you’d like to admit—only to regret them later. You’re not alone.
In today’s episode, I’m sitting down with a member of The Collective who has walked that very path. When she first started, her home felt disjointed, and every decision felt heavy, overwhelming, and expensive. But with the right tools, guidance, and clarity, everything shifted.
Now? She’s confidently making decorating decisions, creating a cohesive home she genuinely loves, and even getting compliments from friends and family when they walk through her door. The best part—she’s doing it all without blowing her budget or second-guessing every choice.
This conversation is proof that you don’t need a fancy designer or endless resources to create a home that feels both stylish and welcoming. You just need the right framework and a little support along the way.
If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of costly mistakes, overwhelm, or feeling like your home never quite comes together—this episode will inspire you to believe transformation is possible for you, too.

Have you ever looked around your home and thought, “This room just feels…boring”? You know it has potential, but you’re not sure how to make it come alive with personality and warmth.
That’s exactly where my student Dee found herself with her den. Inside The Collective (my monthly decorating membership), she shared her desire to transform her plain space into one that feels extremely cozy and filled with character. In today’s episode, I’m giving you a behind-the-scenes look at her Room Edit—a one-on-one coaching moment that will help you see how just a few strategic design moves can completely change the feel of a room.
You’ll hear how I guided Dee to:
Color drench her den for instant coziness and drama.
Layer in ambient lighting to create warmth and mood.
Add built-in bookshelves styled with intention, giving her space personality and charm.
If you’ve ever wondered how to take your “blah” room and turn it into a space you love being in, this Room Edit will inspire you to look at your own home with fresh eyes.

We all have those “What was I thinking?!” moments when we look back at how we decorated our first home—and today I’m pulling back the curtain on mine. In this episode, I’m sharing the top 3 mistakes I made when I first started decorating—and how you can avoid falling into the same traps.
From ignoring the foundation of the space (hello, clashing wood tones) to rushing through the process without a plan, these missteps cost me time, money, and confidence. I’ll also be talking about something so many of us skip: decluttering before decorating—and how buying storage solutions too soon can actually make things worse.
If you're decorating your first home—or you feel like you're still trying to get it right even after years—this episode will help you pause, rethink, and decorate with purpose.
What you’ll learn:
✨ Why your floors and wood tones matter more than you think
✨ The cost of decorating without a plan or palette
✨ What to do before you buy baskets, bins, or organizers
This episode is for you if:
— You feel like your home still doesn’t feel “right”
— You’ve made purchases you regret
— You’re starting fresh and want to avoid costly mistakes
Grab your coffee and let’s talk real decorating lessons—so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and a plan.

If you’ve ever bought a new rug, throw pillows, or wall art—hoping it would finally pull your space together—only to find your home still feels “off,” this episode is for you.
Before you pick up that paintbrush or shop another sale, there’s a crucial step that often gets skipped: organizing.
In today’s episode, I’m talking with professional organizer, Nicole Gabai, about why organizing isn’t just about putting things in bins or hiding the mess—it’s about creating the foundation for a beautiful, functional, and cohesive home.
You’ll learn:
Why decorating before organizing leads to frustration and wasted money
How organizing helps you make smarter design decisions (and fewer mistakes)
The surprising impact your “stuff” has on how your home feels
Simple ways to start organizing today—without buying a single new thing
This is the first step toward the cozy, confident home you’re dreaming about. Let’s do it right—and let’s do it together.

Hey friend!
Let’s be honest—Amazon is fast. Target has everything. And when you’re juggling work, errands, dinner, and kids running in and out of the house all day, convenience feels like the biggest win.
But what if that convenience is quietly costing you more than just a few extra dollars?
In today’s episode, I’m sharing 5 eye-opening reasons why shopping small is actually worth it—even for the busiest moms. We’re diving into the less obvious trade-offs of big box shopping and the surprising wins that come from supporting small businesses, whether they’re online boutiques, your favorite local shop downtown, or that one talented maker on Etsy.
You’ll learn how shopping small can:
Save you time, stress, and design regret in the long run
Bring more soul, uniqueness, and personality into your home
Help you feel more connected to your space and your community
Support real people (not just algorithms)
Build relationships (without the use of chat bots)
This isn’t about guilt or giving up every two-day delivery—it’s about reframing the way we decorate so our homes tell the stories we want to tell.
If you’re ready to make small shifts that lead to a home that feels more like you—without breaking the bank—this episode is your invitation.
Ready to take the next step?
Let’s work together to make your home feel intentional, beautiful, and uniquely yours—without the overwhelm.

Today, you'll hear from:
Nicole: who has slowly been transforming her home over the past 7 months. She wonders about art placement in her living room and hanging a plant above her ADORABLE console.
Michal: who wonders if a mirror she's been eyeing at Ballard Design (that's finally on sale) fits within her personal design style (aka aesthetic) and, if so, how to make it work in her foyer. Side note: her personal style is so sweet. We named it: southern modern!
Rosie: who is remodeling her family's cabin for future generations to enjoy. She's in the fun, but often confusing stage of making ALL THE DECISIONS. Fun when you have clarity, but overwhelming if you don't! You'll hear in the course of our 10 minute conversation how Rosie's overwhelm decreased dramatically just by getting her questions answered!

Hi friend!
Are you tired of tripping over the pile of shoes or backpacks that inevitably pile up near the front door or spill out of the laundry room? Do you constantly get bogged down by the endless pile of papers that accumulate on your kitchen countertops? Do you wonder why you can't ever find the thing that you're certain you already owned?
It might not be a MESSY or an ORGANIZING problem...it might be a SYSTEM problem.
In today's episode I'm walking you through 5 simple steps for recognizing problem areas in your home that spill over into messiness and make you feel disorganized.
1. Identify your high traffic zones. Those are usually the culprits for the cogs in the wheel - the messy or unorganized places.
2. Disect the problem in that area. What's currently happening that isn't working.
3. Identify HOW you want that space to function for you. How can it work harder for you and not you for it.
4. Start making a plan for remediation - really thinking about what it is you need (or already have) in order to solve this problem.
5. Execute!
Bonus tips are included for when motivation at this stage is now the cog in your execution wheel.
Do you want help making your space feel more functional AND beautiful? Book a Decorating SOS Call.
Happy organizing!

Decluttering episode mentioned in show: Ep. 338
Hey friend,
If you love the charm of traditional farmhouse style but crave something a little more elevated and fresh, farmcore might be exactly what your home needs. In this episode, I’m introducing you to a trending home decor style that blends the coziness of cottagecore (remember episode 15?) with the classic appeal of farmhouse design—creating a richer, more layered aesthetic that's as timeless as it is on-trend.
I’ll walk you through:
✨ What farmcore is and how it differs from traditional farmhouse decor
✨ Why it's not just another rustic trend
✨ How to confidently incorporate farmcore into your own home—even if you're decorating on a budget
Here’s how to bring farmcore into your space:
Wall Treatments – Think shiplap (yes, it’s still in!), beadboard, and board and batten to add depth and visual interest.
Layered Textures – Cozy it up with wallpaper, window treatments, throw pillows, blankets, and area rugs.
Traditional Silhouettes – Choose quality furniture with classic lines like wingback chairs and rolled arms.
Antique Pieces – Mix in vintage or antique furnishings for a curated, lived-in look.
Rustic Elements – Raw woods, stoneware, and iron accents help ground the space.
Natural Materials – Lean into wood, linen, cotton, and clay for an organic feel.
Pattern Mixing – Don’t be afraid to pair florals with plaids or stripes—step outside the design box!
Moody Earth Tones – Create a rich foundation with colors inspired by nature—think deep greens, browns, and terracotta.
Farmcore brings nostalgia and warmth with a modern, curated twist. You don’t have to live in the country to love this style—and you definitely don’t need a big budget.
xo,
dani

Hey friend!
Did you know that multiple studies have shown a direct correlation between a cluttered environment and elevated levels of cortisol — our body’s primary stress hormone? When our surroundings are messy or chaotic, our brain perceives it as “unfinished business,” which keeps us in a state of stress.
So even if you're not consciously thinking, "Ugh, this clutter is stressing me out," your body is. And it’s responding by keeping you in a low-grade stress mode — making it harder to focus, sleep, or even relax.
But let’s think beyond cortisol for a second.
Clutter also impacts:
Your energy: It’s mentally draining.
Your relationships: It can lead to arguments or embarrassment about inviting people over.
Your productivity: Visual distractions make it harder to concentrate.
Your confidence: A cluttered home can make you feel like you're "failing" at adulting — even though you're absolutely not.
You deserve to feel proud of your home — not overwhelmed by it.
Ready for help doing just that? Book a Decoarting SOS Coaching Call to take the first step (or four) toward creating a home you delight in!
