After a nation-wide search and hundreds of entries, four diverse Australians have been selected, trained, and set free to Find and Tell unique and interesting stories from around the country. Introducing our first two storytellers, Ben Haywood and Kate Robinson. This week they go head-to-head to find and tell the best story on the theme Silver Linings. Ben investigates a small country village that became home to a mind-boggling mystery when it was suddenly overrun by hundreds of… teddy bears.  And Kate's story begins amidst an emotional breakup, when out of the blue she receives a voice message from a friend. Enlisting help from Elizabeth Day, Kate creates a love letter to those friends who hold us together when life falls apart. It's time to meet our final two storytellers, Mark Mariano and Naeun Kim. This week they go head-to-head on the theme Unlikely Allies. Mark grew up as a member of the Mormon church. But in his early teen years he left it all behind - because he felt that his sexuality and his spirituality could not co-exist. In this story, he explores that divide, and whether it needs to be there. And Naeun investigates the name "Karen", which has become synonymous with a demanding, entitled white woman with a compulsive tendency to ask for the manager. We've now met all four of our storytellers, but the competition has only just begun to heat up. This episode we see the return of Kate and Mark as they share a story on the theme Forgive and Forget. Mark takes us back to the early 2000s, when Australian Idol was the beating heart of this nation’s popular culture. He speaks with one contestant whose wings were rising to the height of success and fame, before a twist of fate brought them crashing down. Kate's break up story continues, as she turns to musical artist, Parissa Tosif from the band Valis Alps, to learn how they use their art to forgive and forget. As we approach the half way point of the series, Naeun and Ben go head to head to tell a story on the theme Today Was A Bad Day.  10 years ago, Ben had planned a day to take his friend Brenna out surfing for the first time. Hours later, he was driving Brenna to the hospital, covered in blood. Ben’s been carrying the guilt from that day ever since. So, he reaches out to Brenna, to make amends, and for a chance at forgiveness. And Naeun takes us back to a day in 2020 when sisters Rosa and Sophie Do were grappling with uncertainty as the pandemic took hold. Of course, they were worried about the spread of Coronavirus. This episode kicks off the four final stories from our storytellers before the finals, where only two will advance. Naeun and Kate share the theme of New Beginnings. Naeun finds herself in a small country town in New South Wales, as locals flock to the showgrounds, ready for a big day out. But this isn’t a music festival. It’s a police auction, where thousands of items – lost, stolen or seized – will be sold off to the highest bidder. In the climax to Kates heartbreak trilogy, After stumbling across Yumi Stynes divorce party, she begins to question why big life changes, such as a relationship breakdowns, aren’t celebrated with the same grand rituals that falling in love has.
