In the latest episode of Finish Your Race, Don sat down with Stacey Campbell to talk about about what it means to lean into being “perfectly imperfect” and embracing incremental progress, how to learn from the constant evolution that is life, and how Stacy has managed challenges in her life.Stacey Campbell describes herself as “a perfectly imperfect work-in-progress” as she sojourns through this fragile but glorious world. Between priorities of motherhood and cross-country moves to support her husband’s career, she managed to build a career in the nonprofit sector serving in roles from volunteer to communications/PR to founder to grant writer. As with many women, she has several working “titles” including widow, mom, writer and photographer, with room for more! Currently, she serves as the Resource Development Coordinator at Hearts for Homes, a nonprofit dedicated to serving low-income senior homeowners in need of home repairs. She is no stranger to grief, loss and the difficulties of caregiving. At age 22 she lost her father, lost her mother at age 43 and lost her husband at 47. She writes about the challenges of caregiving, widowhood and struggle for healing in her blog entitled, For Better or For Worse. She took up photography as a way to cope with the struggles of raising 3 children in the midst of her husband’s 15-year cancer battle, her mom’s battle with COPD and her youngest daughter’s chronic pain condition. Following her husband’s passing she created Renewed Faith Photography, named after the inscription her husband had engraved in her wedding band, and is about to launch a new website. Some of her photo collection can be seen on Renewed Faith Photography’s instagram and Facebook pages.
