Great ep, always informative. Damn, RHCP really did the heavy lifting for Crazy Town, that sample is like all they had going for them. At the same time the original never was gonna be a "hit" so kudos. Another layer to the "what you say" song is a lot of people mainly know that song from the snl digital short "Dear Sister". That's at least the case for me. I was actually surprised how specifically angry/sad it was. If I was closer to the original I'd almost think the JD was disrespectful with how much it changes the meaning of the words. Loved him in Cats though. Honestly, I don't think I have ever listen to "Sympathy for the Devil" outside of movies or commercials that use it. Had no idea it was from the perspective of the devil, I thought it was about trains. Listening to the last song while I write this, I like it a lot! Thanks for the shout-out.

I commented too soon, the one that really got me was Torn. I'd always felt like the time of that song didn't fit the depth of the lyrics, something was just off. now it makes sense since it's a cover. The original captures the spirit much better, but I understand why the poppy cover had much more mass appeal.

Great Ep! I like the way you say mama's and the papas, so that really elevates this episode. also the Red Red Wine one got me fucked up, I had no idea.

What a fantastic show. I learned a lot about songs I like, and was exposed to new songs I hadn't heard before. This was the first time in quite a while I had taken the time to sit and actively think about the music I was listening to, so thank you for that. Eagerly waiting for the next episode!
