"If you were a fruit, what fruit would you be?" Although the idea of personifying a fruit is a little strange, listen in to find out how this seemingly silly writing prompt turned out to be not only an entertaining, but eye-opening experience.
Today’s tool is a body Scan. No, this doesn’t involve any kind of medical office, loud machinery, or painful needle sticks. Thank goodness! This is something that can be done at home, all by yourself, in a quiet, comfy spot. So, what exactly is it, and why should I do one? Listen in to this episode to get the answers!
Do you have a beauty routine? What does it consist of? How important is it to you? How much time, energy, and money do you put into it? How many “tools” do you own and use to look your best?  Get ready to take lots of notes today, as Stephanie shares the secrets of her unbeatable beauty routines!
Hollywood is a parade of perfection, youth, and a ridiculously narrow definition of “beauty”, on a never-ending conveyor belt of movies, awards shows, and celebrity sightings. And, those who don’t follow suit by keeping up the “look” are scrutinized, criticized and sometimes mercilessly ostracized. I can’t imagine the pressure that the Hollywood “elite” are under. Thankfully there are several ladies in Hollywood who are taking a stand against the “norm” by embracing their age, their authentic beauty, and their imperfections. Tune in today to see who they are, and what they have to say.
We see signs everywhere, every day. Some signs are declarations or reminders of exclusivity. Warnings to outsiders that they are not welcome, unless they meet the specific requirements of the sign’s creator or enforcer. Recently, I came across an unwritten sign that said, in effect, “You must be ‘this big’ to enter. If you don’t take up enough space, you are not welcome here.” Listen in to today's conversation to find out what exclusive "club" this sign represents, and if you want to be a member. (Or perhaps, if you already are...)
So many of us wish to be younger, but do we really? Ashton Applewhite, author of “This Chair Rocks!” said, “No one actually wants to be any younger, we just want to look the part!“ I don’t know about you, but that rings true to me. I wouldn’t want to turn back the clock on the experiences I’ve had, the wisdom I’ve gained or the relationships I’ve nurtured.  Today, we’re actually going to look ahead into our own personal future to help us get a glimpse of what we might want to be doing today to ensure that it’s the best one possible.
We each have many preferences in life and the way we want to live it. Do you have a good sense of what your preferences are?  How much power do you give these preferences over your day, your choices, or your happiness? You might be surprised to realize how much-maybe without even knowing or realizing it. Tune in to this conversation to get some ideas about how to take that power back, and bring more peace to your life.
This episode is the first of what I’m calling “Laughlines”–stories to make you laugh or at least bring a smile to your face. Today we'll be chatting all about the challenges of crazy curly hair, eye cream pushing eye candy (you'll have to listen to figure that one out...), among other beautiful topics. Hope you enjoy it!
It seems like in many realms, we women can become obsessed with losing-especially weight, inches, wrinkles or other signs of aging, cellulite, or any number of flaws we feel are holding us back, or keeping us from hashtag “living my best life”. Ready for a plot twist?–What if instead of constantly focusing on losing weight and all those other things, we started thinking about-and working on-things we want to gain? Trust me, it's a game changer. Listen to this episode to hear all about it.
We live in a time where you can literally get anything you want delivered to your door within hours or days. We have conditioned ourselves to be in a constant state of “Cha-Ching!”--jackpot land--and after a while, it just becomes the norm. When this happens, research shows that we don't appreciate or enjoy it as much. But, don’t feel too bad–there is one place where we should definitely go “full boar”, “whole hog”, “the whole nine yards” in the area of getting what we want. Tune in to find out what it is!
In Proverbs, it says “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.” Listen to this conversation with Stephanie for a new twist on this scripture, and learn ways to become a better builder of your personal house-your body- instead of seeing it as an ongoing remodeling project.
We, as humans, have a tendency to demand peace or happiness on our own, very specific terms. Unfortunately, this isn't how it works. Despite all the problems, challenges and heartache, uncertainty and pain that may surround us, there is still so much beauty in every experience, every person, and every day, that is there for the taking if we can just see it and appreciate it. Being able to bend our will and our wishes to accept what IS, is a beautiful act of bravery, and many times is what turns mayhem, mess ups and simply messes in general, into magic. Join Stephanie today for some ideas about how to do just that.
Our bodies are the least interesting thing about us, but are a subject that comes up a lot. We all have so much more going on inside of us than what meets the eye. Join Stephanie as she talks about how we can focus on connecting with each other through those things that make us shine, sparkle, light up with energy, and a love for life.
