Kim Anthony had talent but did not have the ‘look’ of a typical gymnast in the 1980s – she was African-American, too tall, and came from a poor family. But by the time she got to college, she had already overcome incredible odds: almost aborted; a drug-addicted father; a struggling single mom. When her gymnastic victories left her feeling hollow, Kim sought a deeper meaning for her life, and found it through Jesus Christ. She concludes her message by encouraging her audience of high-school students to esteem themselves as sons and daughters of the King and embrace sexual purity before marriage.   Receive the book Unfavorable Odds: and the audio download of the broadcast "Catapulting Over a Painful Past." for your donation of any amount! LOVE the principle discussed in this episode about individuals being able to accept the gospel after death! I have a testimony that it is true! 1 Corinthians 15:29 demonstrates this truth. They acted out baptisms for the dead to enable those who had passed to be forgiven of their sins. In addition, we learn that these are the people Christ ministered to between the time of His death and resurrection (see 1Peter 3:18-20). Truly a wonderful episode!

muslim here, love this podcast.. something we share n value most in life after god: FAMILY. ..i found some refreshing perspectives on handling family matters.. we r all unique n cuz god made us so..tho in my community i always hear of parents pushing kids to be a carbon copy of self n end up in bad relationship n cant understand y. n repeat over n over which is defination of insanity i feel we must acknowledge our kids may be different. Sooner we realize the better..n we need to apply ourselves n adjust approach n not giv them 1 size fit all approach. all this is possible if parents value their kids as God's beings as oppose to their own property, they r indeed a blessing from god n a big responsibility on parents' shoulders..this responsibility we should fulfill, inshallah(God willing). thank you for great material.

I learned two important things. God doesn't want us to settle in our marriage. each spouse brings their own unique way to teach and bring Christ to our family. if you try to control the other you lose the potential of their creativity.

I doubt anyone's going to read this who needs it, but as a 16 year old who has been addicted to my phone, I agree with everything that they've said in this episode, but regarding the timers on how long someone can be on their phone, I think that it's perfectly fine, but it won't solve the root problem, but there's obviously nothing wrong with doing it.
