In 2018, in the immediate aftermath of yet another senseless, hate driven mass shooting at the Tree Of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA, I got fed up with the gun violence that plagues our country and I wrote “Tree Of Life”. It’s a somber, mournful plea to find “a better way” to deal with gun violence. When I started this podcast in 2021 one of the first episodes I put out featured this song after yet another mass shooting. Now here we are in 2022 and the carnage continues, this past week in Buffalo, NY and 7 other cities. There have already been 198 mass shootings in the U.S. this year! This is insane. The politicians continue to do nothing. As my song says, “we must find a better way - today”. Please contact your politicians and demand a solution to this terrible problem. “Tree Of Life” Spotify link. Connect with the Follow Your Dream Podcast:Website: www.followyourdreampodcast.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/FollowYourDreamPodcastEmail Robert: robert@followyourdreampodcast.com Follow Robert’s band, Project Grand Slam, and his music:Website: https://www.projectgrandslam.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/projectgrndslamStore: https://www.thepgsstore.com/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/PGSjazzFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/projectgrandslam/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/04BdGdJszDD8WtAFXc9skWApple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/project-grand-slam/274548453Email: pgs@projectgrandslam.com

Everybody has a dream. My youthful dream was to become a rock star. I finally followed my dream later in life when I formed my band, Project Grand Slam. A year ago I started the Follow Your Dream podcast in order to inspire and motivate you to follow your dream. From time to time I like to remind you of my story, so you can see for yourselves that, as I like to say, you're never too old, and it's never too late, to follow your dream.Recently I was interviewed on a terrific podcast called Beyond The Crucible, and I decided to re-broadcast the interview as a Special Episode of this podcast, because the interview skillfully lays out my story and tells you the precise steps that I took toward my dream and that anyone can take. The interview is chock full of "value bombs" that I hope will inspire and motivate you to follow and succeed at your dream.--------------------------------------------   My featured song in this Special Episode is “Metro Shuffle” ft. Never thought a podcast would bring a tear to my eye, but the Lee Sklar episode--and Steve Katz before that--did just that. I'm fortunate to have been there at the beginning, and to be taken back to the making of "Dr. My Eyes" and "Sometimes in Winter" were revealing and wonderful moments. Give us more, Robert!
