After consulting some Proper Football Men, the Premier League has tried to dial back VAR by making it more complicated. Clangers galore! Kate, Luke and Pete tackle that with minimal contact before looking over the latest Champions League qualifiers, where Rangers legend Steven Davis nabbed a late goal against Malmö. There's also time for a Dani Alves update and the latest around Chelsea as they plot another bid for Romelu Lukaku. First the lack of goals in seasons gone by, now avoiding training altogether? Harry Kane really does hate August. Marcus, Jim and Pete settle in for a round of ice-cold sagas, with Kane determined to leave Spurs and James Rodríguez seemingly not in Rafa's plans. Callum Wilson has also been spilling some beans about Brucey's tactical folly, Preston North End beat a mystery team and even Fizzer got a win! Like John H. Miller charging into the chaos at Omaha Beach, it seems Ben White has quite the job at the centre of Arsenal's defence. Keep the sand out of your boots, Ben. Kate, Jim and Andy recap the weekend's football, which saw Celtic starting the Scottish Premiership season in disappointing fashion and Arsenal losing an absolutely crucial pre-season fixture. We also assess where it went wrong for Team GB and wonder how Leon Bailey might get on at Aston Villa. Hitting the road, Jack?

Kate, Pete and Jim settle in to wonder whether Jack Grealish will soon slide his glorious calves into some walking boots and trudge up to Manchester City. Elsewhere, Arsène Wenger has been linked to a gloriously suave return to management while his compatriot Raymond Domenech continues to take as much undeserved credit as possible. There's also a return for Virgil van Dijk and the first-ever round of Kate's Game! Marcus, Andy and Jim have competitive club football to report on already, as Celtic's Champions League dreams were dashed for another season. The Europa League (potentially) beckons! Elsewhere, boardroom manoeuvres won't stop David Moyes trying to bring the Manny band back together and Victor Wanyama's stocking his cupboards. We also dream up a solution for men's football's Olympic problem and check over the new heading regulations being rolled out. The Premier League's revolving centre-back door keeps on spinnin', as Kate bids a fond farewell to helmet-haired Toby Alderweireld. Don't worry though, because Spurs want Aaron Ramsey: direct replacement, that. Luke and Pete join Kate at Ramble Towers with more of the latest from the football circus, as Kepa Arrizabalaga extends Maurizio Sarri an olive branch, Team GB reach the next round at the Olympics and Joaquín's week-long hangover ruled him out of a pre-season game. Marcus, Pete and Jim are here to hail the latest cab off the centre-back rank, with Raphaël Varane and Ben White two more risk-free additions expected in the coming days. Elsewhere, the post-Gareth Bale era winds down at Spurs with Eric Lamela's sad departure, Steve Bruce shoulders the takeover burden and Wayne Rooney looks tired - someone get him some players, my word. Well, there we are: the two tournament's best teams made the Euro 2020 final, where England fell at the final hurdle.  Marcus, Luke and Vish settle in for a pensive postmortem, as England were beaten by a better team after more penalty shoot-out heartbreak. We praise the Italian's steeliness and assess how they took the game away from England, who themselves can be proud of their performances throughout a joyous tournament. After fifty matches and 140 goals, the tournament's two best teams remain standing - and Gareth Southgate's England are one of them. Kate, Luke and Vish look ahead to what should be a cracking final, with intriguing and potentially pivotal individual battles across the pitch. We also take a moment to consider the generational impact this team has had on the country and see just how far a group of nice guys can go. A pity you guys are totally dismissive of the people who are unhappy with England players associating with BLM and the knee. 99.99% of England fans support Kick It Out, the football version of anti-racism. Support BLM and you are inviting backlash from all taxes and colours. Enough is enough. Fans see BLM and the knee for what they are - Emporers new clothes.

Really enjoyed this before the revamp last Summer, it's now much better with the different presenters who work prominently in TV and you get a variety of discussions depending on the mix. Still funny especially if Pete or Jim are there and often tackle the serious topics. 5 🌟

Been a loyal Rambler for 8 years and loved every second of it, even going to a live show last year. This podcast got me through some interesting times, however the show quality has undoubtedly dipped with the new lineup. Every time there's a new Ramble uploaded I hate that I now have to check the lineup to see if it's a combination of presenters that I like as opposed to the old format. None of the new presenters are necessarily bad, or uninformed, it's just not the Ramble, and it's a testament to the quality of the show previously that adding such educated and obviously experienced people has made the show dip. In the 8 years I've been listening I feel as if this is the first wrong move the podcast has made, however I simultaneously understand why it's happened, the boys have been doing this for such a long time that frankly they must need a break every now and then, and also probably want to explore other aspects of their careers and thus can't smash out five Rambles a week between them. I will always love the Football Ramble, but I do listen to it far far less than I did before. Thank you for everything x
