From the Alchemy halls of Skullport
To the Sea of Moving Ice
In the Depths of Thay
To the skies of Halruaa
We reside in the lofty spires of Neverwinter
And in the treacherous streets of Menzoberranzan
We are the soldiers of Zhentarim
The miners of Mithral Hall
And the Lore Masters of Candlekeep
So, pull up a seat
We have many tales to tell
There is plenty of room by our fire

Faerun History makes videos for DM’s and Players who wish to know more about the Forgotten Realms Lore.
Each episode is told from an in-world perspective, allowing you to use the videos for your RPG sessions as well as for independent research.
Our goal is to show you the diversity and breadth of the Forgotten Realms and to help you have a better RPG session.
The Laws of Waterdeep are not always easy to understand, but all visitors should be willing to give it a quick glance before heading beyond the city gates.
------------
This video was made especially for Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, and most of the information herein comes from that adventure. –
There are no spoilers for the adventurer unless the DM has a special encounter planned with someone outlining how the laws of the city work.
Hopefully, this video can be given to players who are about to enter Waterdeep and don’t feel like reading the pamphlet of Laws and Rules.

A certain wizard may have re-written the history of the schism that divided the dark followers of Lolth and the followers of light and Corellon Larenthian, that has been told among those who are not elves.
But who do the elves remember the events that brought down Lolth and her banishment from the Seldarine and the trees of Arvandor?
Today's speaker is a priest of Vhaeraun who retells the fall of Lolth in how the Tel'quessir remembers it (perhaps with a few embellishments).

In the History of Duergar we discussed their origin and way of life, here we discuss their religious beliefs and way of worship.
Laduguer and Deep Duerra form a dual symbiosis that controls the Duergar society and protects them from outside influence.
Gracklstugh would not have withstood all the violence sent against it if not for these two.
The children of Laduguer shall conquer the earth and stone from which they sprang and the voids in which they dwell.
The seizing of new lands, new wealth, and new servitors is the manifest destiny of those who mine the Night Below.
Magic is weak, unreliable, and unsubtle when compared to the powers of the mind unless bequeathed and steadied by the will of the gods.
By means of the Invisible Art, the duergar shall destroy or enslave all those reliant upon petty magics to survive.

The Morninglord has a long and interesting history, but how is his church run? What do his followers value and what sort of people go to his sermons?
This video takes a look at the faith of Lathander and how someone who stumbled into a follower of Lathander would be treated and what sort of activities his church would do.
It talks about the rituals and festivals the church holds, what titles are used in the temple and what sort of reasons someone would go to a local chapter.
While not every temple of Lathander is welcoming and innocent as the perspective of Orlpar the Dawnmaster here, the church of Lathander is one of the more open and welcoming places in the realm.
Last time we discussed churches, we tackled Bane and his doctrine.
The intent behind this series is to move away from the Gods and their ploys and look at how their worshipers work.
What are their temples involved in? Why would you join? What attitudes and perspectives would a follower of the divine being hold.
This series is slightly inspired by popular views on modern religious – Bonus points for who can guess where this one drew its inspiration :)

The History of the Duergar is long and harsh – Enslaved and hated by their brethren, these underdark dwarves strive to make it on their own.
Pledging loyalty to Laduguer and Deep Duerra these Stout Folk wage war on the Drow, the Illithids as well as any other Underdark Race that proves untrustworthy.
They make items of quality, if not beauty, and are more open to trade with the other races than most underdark minions.
But how did they come to be? What drove them even deeper than the hardiest dwarves, learn all about it in today’s episode.
