On this special episode of the Fozcast, we take you through Ben's most lucrative contract he ever received while being a professional Goalkeeper. In July of 2011, Ben joined the Midlands rivals of his previous club Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion. In that season, he played 37 of their 38 games and equalling West Brom's all time clean sheet record of 10. This led West Brom to sign Ben on a permanent deal for the sum of £4,000,000. This contract is the contract we look at today, going through it page-by-page, number by number and bonus-by-bonus to show you the money that players in highest level of English football were being paid at the start of the 2010s and also comparing this to today's insane wage bills and bonuses. In this episode, we discuss: Ben's greatest Contract 🌟 The sign-on bonuses he received 📝 The weekly wages he was on 🤑 The differences on salaries between then and now 🤯 The almost impossible playing bonuses that players struggled to reach 🤕 And so much more!
Today we have current Leicester City player and England International Conor Coady on the podcast! Conor began his professional career at the Liverpool academy eventually playing 2 games for the Reds. After two short spells at Sheffield United and Huddersfield, Conor found himself at the club that would cement himself as one of the brightest English defensive prospects. Wolves would buy Conor for £2 million in 2015 and for 8 years, Conor was the rock of their defensive line, helping the squad reach heights such as The Europa League in the 2019-20 season. Conor has also played 10 times for the 3 Lions, notably at EURO 2020 where, even though he didn’t play, was dubbed “The player of the tournament” by Assistant Manager Steve Holland for his presence in the camp. Now, at Leicester City his one and only aim is to get the Foxes back to the Premier League. In this Episode, we speak to Conor about: The current Leicester team and how the new manager has revolutionised the club His rise through the ranks of the Liverpool Academy His time at Liverpool rivals, Everton The mental toll of Raul Jiminez’ injury on him and the squad
Today we have a Premier League legend on the Fozcast, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Bursting into the Premier League with Leeds United before a big money move to Atletico Madrid where despite scoring 24 league goals, Madrid were relegated from the top tier of Spanish football. This opened the door for a huge move back to the Premier league with Chelsea for a record fee of £15 million. It didn't take long for him to get off the mark for the Blues as he was able to score on his debut at Wembley in the Charity Shield versus the mighty Manchester United and from that point onwards, the rest is history. In four years at Stamford Bridge he scored 69 goals in 136 games, placing him firmly in the minds and hearts of Chelsea fans for years to come. After stints at numerous clubs from 2004 to 2008, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink retired from playing football and has since become a manager.  In this podcast, the lads speak to Hasselbaink about: The insane first meeting with the legend that is John Terry 🤣 The 'Passion' from leeds fans 🤐 His crazy move to Atletico Madrid 🤯 THAT Incredible Chelsea team 😍 We hope you enjoy! 👊🏼
