After 4 year on FM stations worldwide, Freshly Squeezed evolved to it's current incarnation as a podcast-friendly monthly show of just under an hour. Joining the musical dots from the 1920s right up to future releases via Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Ska, Electro-Swing, Dance and more, Brighton's independent record label aims to build on their reputation with information, education and entertainment on everything from historic record labels to the weeks best free soundcloud downloads.

As the colder months set in, Freshly Squeezed is in suitably chill mood. Join Nick Hollywood as he celebrates 20 years of the Dope Noir label from Austria's Waldeck. Plus exclusive new music from an Odd Chap meets Little Violet collaboration, Parov Stelar remixing himself, a handful of vintage classics (including a 1984 hit when the British charts rediscovered Jazz) and a couple more stand-out album tracks from the recent Alanna Lyes album.
After a break for summer Nick Hollywood returns with another essential slice of Freshly Squeezed. Hold onto the last drop of summer as we hear recent releases from the eponymous label and beyond featuring the finest funk, soul, electro swing, jazz and more from the last few months.

Technical gremlins (and background chatter) aside, today's show offers a chilled hour of summer evening vibes to set you up for the end of your day (or anytime really) with a hand picked choice of beautiful music, vintage classics and fresh new releases.
June's show comes to you LIVE from Brighton's Presuming Ed Coffee House and begins a series of more interactive shows in mellow mood with a set of long slow funky jams for summer. The weather's fine, (well it was!), the sun is out, the shades are on. Nick Hollywood introduces a hand picked selection of the finest fruit from a 1966 vintage classic Pacific Jazz live recording to an album bonus version from Fat Freddy.
Vintage and vintage-influenced sound: remixed, remastered, rewound. Nick Hollywood presents another show with more exceptional new music than can comfortably fit into a one hour window. Includes recent and pre-release sounds from the Freshly Squeezed family and beyond. Way beyond.

We were hoping January would see the first of a new LIVE series of Freshly Squeezed shows broadcast from the new Slack City Radio housed in a coffee shop on the London Road in Brighton. Instead Lockdown 0.3 intervened and 2021 is kicking off with a DJ mix. Having also cancelled our New Years Eve WHITE MINK event, we decided to roll with the kind of mix we'd more usually deliver in a club setting. Sort of. Hold onto your hats as Nick Hollywood spins a timewarp of sounds from 16 years of electro swing. Plus a few surprises!

July already and Nick Hollywood’s Freshly Squeezed is back with a world exclusive preview of the new single from Italy’s Swingrowers, plus brand new releases from Riff Kitten, Caro Emerald, Atom Smith and modal PROJEKT.
We also have a classic remix from Verve Records of a topical Nina Simone tune, and a summery chilled bit in the middle. A bit like an ice-cream. But not.
This month’s Freshly Squeezed has spring in it’s step. Green shoots are popping up everywhere and with new swing releases from Jamie Berry, Atom Smith and Odd Chap, a feeling of cautious optimism is in the air.
Less talk and more music this month as the show builds from a mellow funky start to a flying electro finish.
