On today's episode, I interview my little sister, Mia. At the young age of five, the move was tremendously different for her than the rest of us. She didn't get to experience much of Honduras but nonetheless, holds Honduras close to her heart. I hope you all enjoy hearing her side of things through her youthful eyes.
Here we go again! In today's episode I will be talking to my big sister (two out of four), about our move to the US. I hold this specific episode very dear and near to my heart. Monica ("Moni") had very different struggles from the rest of us when we moved. Just like the rest of us, Moni experienced the same homesickness and feelings of being misunderstood while simultaneously feeling blessed; however, on top of it all, Moni also struggles with depression. She has been struggling with depression from a very young age, and the move was everything but smooth for her. It is inspiring to re-live these moments with her, especially since when they were happening I was so caught up with what I was feeling that I often forgot to look over to her and ask her if she was okay. I would love for you all to join me in listening to my sisters story and how she made it through.
Welcome back! On today's episode I will be interviewing my oldest sister, Michelle ("Mayi"). We talk about how different the move was for her than it was for the rest of us due to the fact that she had already lived in Honduras for such a big part of her life. Please join me as my sister shares her part of the story and how it all unraveled through her eyes.
Hola!! Welcome to my podcast! In this introductory episode I set the mood for what will be a podcast about my family's life in Honduras and what it was like for us when we moved to the US. I talk about some fond childhood memories and what the transition of moving to a completely different country was like. Thank you for joining me on this journey and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did telling my story.
Welcome back to another episode! In this episode I discuss the move with my parents. They talk about their thoughts leading up to the final decision, what caused them to take a while to decide, and what they experienced as parents being in the US. Enjoy!
In this episode I talk to my baby sister, Mia. She talks about the vague memory she has of the move from her 5 year old eyes and what sort of impacts she experienced at a very young age. I hope you all enjoy!
In this episode, I interviewed my second oldest sister, Monica (Moni). We talk about the struggles she faced when we moved and how she was able to accept it and finally overcome it. In her case, the move was harder because she struggles with mental health therefore adjusting was tough but she got through it. I hope you enjoy listening to her story!
This episode will be dedicated to my oldest sister, "Mayi". She will be talking about the move through her point of view and the different things she experienced when going through it. Enjoy!
