From a Fan's Perspective: The Birds

An off-season week by week breakdown of the previous season, from a passionate Eagles fan, to discuss how the gaps are being filled by the NFL draft and free agency for the Birds' upcoming season.

S02 E03: Flush It Down the Toilet

Eagles fans run everyone out of town just like everyone flushes *it* down the toilet. Reid, Chip, Wentz, Pederson, everyone. So this week they play someone they ran out of town after being destroyed by a division rival, isn't it fun being an Eagles fan?

013: Washington Football Team, more like WTF

This was a disappointing week 1 but I have faith this is not the Eagles team we see all year. They will have to change things up but bringing back Miles and Lane could change the entire complexion of this team. Read more here: https://www.fromafanpod.com/post/washington-football-team-more-like-wtf

011: Week 12/13 - The Future of the D

Week 12 and 13 were a bit of an embarrassment for the Eagles in 2019. Jamal Adams sweepstakes are finally over.  The Eagles Defensive Line is going to be exciting in 2020, let's see what they have to offer.

007: Dallas Week - Wentz Week

Looking Back at 2019 Dallas Week it wasn't a pretty game for Wentz, and the Dak-Wentz comparisons continue. Wentz is showing he's skilled and is at the cusp of success, but can't get over the hump. Dak is performing, but his targets are more talented. Brandon Brooks is out, good luck stopping the Dallas D now. Jamal Adams wants to trade his gotham green for midnight green. NFL Season is approaching, hopefully, Let's go Bird. #FlyEaglesFly

005: Week 5 (NYJ) - QB Factory

Normal game breakdown is taking a break this week, the same way the Eagles got to take a break against the New York Jets in Week 5 for 2019. But the back up quarterback is an essential position in the NFL. How many teams actually use this position? Why does no one focus on it?

Eagles are again talking about signing former players who are towards the end of their career, that needs to stop.

004: Week 4 (GB) - Running Game Plan #KeyBird2020

Eagles faced a superior opponent on the road in Week 4 on short rest. But they won? Why did they beat a 3-0 Packers team? Did Doug figure out the game plan? Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard were the foundation of the game plan. Why did it take until week 4 to figure that out? Many people are doubting the talent the Eagles have for 2020, but there are some key young players that will need to break out. Who are they? Who do you think the key Eagles player for 2020 will be? 003: Week 3 (Detroit) - Slay-ed in Philly

The week between the Atlanta game and the Lions game rumors began spreading that the Eagles were the top team interested in Jalen Ramsey who was recently announced on the trading block from Jacksonville as a disgruntled player. While the Lions game doesn't highlight the need for a lockdown cornerback as much as the week 1 and 2 games did, there are plenty of areas on both sides of the ball to criticize. The week revealed that Jackson and Alshon both have lingering injuries and Goedert isn't 100% still either. So, going into the Detroit game the team is going to be seeing a similar receiving corp. Dallas beat Washington and is now 2-0. The Eagles are alone in second of the NFC East at 1-1. Detroit just came off their first victory over the Chargers, but still haven't lost as they tied w/ Arizona in Week 1. They have a stocked offense especially when it comes to passing with Hockenson, Golladay, Amendola and Marvin Jones. Their backfield is pretty stacked too with Kerryon Johnson, McKissic and Ty Johnson. This week also features a game where we get to see the Eagles against one of their newest members Darius Slay. How can Slay help us? What is Jim Schwartz doing? How was this offensive line called elite in preseason articles? What's going to happen with this season's games in the wake of COVID-19?

002: Week 2 (Atlanta): Offensive Struggle

Today we are going to talk about Week 2 of 2019 where the Eagles traveled to Atlanta to face a 0-1 Falcons team. After week 1 the Eagles escaped the redskins to be 1-0 tied with the Cowboys in the lead of the NFC East who beat the Giants relatively easy in Week 1, who rode the back of Dak Prescott. The Eagles started off real slow and need to find a way to beat an opponent on the road who is getting only 1 point. The week before the Eagles were favored by 10.5 and barely beat a Washington team, who isn't a great team. What are they going to do against Matt Ryan and Julio Jones and Sanu and Ridley and Devonta Freeman? It will be alright, because we got #10 DJax right? And this week's From a Fan's Perspective segment covers the Clowney talk rumoring around the NFL

001: Week 1 (Washington) - Deep Ball or Die

Today we’re going to talk about the first week of the 2019, fans were looking forward to since the 2018 playoff loss to New Orleans when Nick Foles' luck ran out. Lets start with the expectations leading up to the first game. DeSean Jackson was the excitement on the streets of Philadelphia, he's back in green and ready to take this offense to the next level. The Birds were expected to breeze by Washington and were favored with a 10.5 point spread. As we know the Eagles win this game 32-27. BUT... what did the Birds do that the Redskins had the lead for almost 3 full quarters? How does the draft and off-season additions help fill the gaps? Were the picks enough? Is Wentz on his way out? My Fan's Perspective will answer a lot of these questions.

After years of defending Wentz it is time to move on, we're Philadelphia Eagles fans, not Carson Wentz, Nick Foles or even Jalen Hurts fans. We will outlast them all in this city, so we need to start asking for better from the organization. Read more at fromafanpod.com
