We are thankful for our teachers! As part of teacher appreciation Sunday, we looked at Christ’s response to the multitudes. For Christians, the call to compassion is a divine one. For Christian educators, then, Christ-like compassion is more than just a profession – it’s a way of life.

What does Christmas mean to you? Hot chocolate and a fireplace? Snow? Gifts and Family? A manger? While none of these answers are wrong, we are reminded as Christians that Christmas…

What does New Testament giving look like? In our study of 2 Corinthians, Paul speaks to proper Christian giving. While this topic often makes Christians uncomfortable in the era of abusive televangelists, Christians must recognize the importance (and true joy) that comes with giving to Christ.

“The higher you climb, the heavier you fall.” This Vietnamese proverb echoes Proverbs where Solomon writes, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18). These simple statements echo the Bible’s teaching in 1 Corinthians. In our message today, we’ll look at Paul’s warning to the Corinthians to never allow their liberty to become a point of pride.

We all lead busy lives. From church to work to children’s practices to meals to household chores, our lives are full. In this fullness, we often find ourselves going from one event to the next without stepping back to discover the big questions. Why do I exist? What will be my legacy? What does it mean to be a slave? Thankfully, America abolished physical slavery over a hundred years ago. But, the truth is that billions of people around the world are still enslaved; they are spiritual slaves. At salvation, the Christian is freed from the bondage of spiritual servitude. As we study Paul’s commands to the Corinthians, we’ll see how to attack the problem of division in the church.

“No man is an island.” These words represent a profound truth of humanity. As much as we think of ourselves as independent and individualistic, we all rely on each other. In this message from 1 Corinthians, Pastor Stevens talks about the biblical priority of relationships.

The book of 1 Corinthians is one of the most quoted Epistles in the New Testament. In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, covers a variety of key topics in the Christian life. In his first message in the series entitled “Straight Forward” on 1 Corinthians, Pastor Stevens gives a background of the church at Corinth and the needs that Paul addresses in his epistle.
