601, the electronic duo capable of filling dancefloors and mosh pits equally, are back with their brand-new album, ‘We Are Not the Same’. Out now via SeeHear Recordings. Marrying the worlds of rock and electronica, but in a unique way and with varied collaborations.
601 have one hell of a story, going all the way back to the early-90s, and that history is prevalent in what they do here. However, what really impresses is that this record still has a strong, contemporary sound and sounds fresh. Least of all because of 601’s interesting blend of styles and genes.
Check out the full review here: https://www.gbhbl.com/album-review-601-we-are-not-the-same-seehear-recordings/
We spoke with the duo behind 601, George Miller and Nat Slater, digging into the detail behind the record and the journey to this point. We talk about their evolution, experimentation, the collaborations on this record, and so much more.

Davghter, the trans black metal band from London, will release their new EP ‘Mask Casket’ on December 1st, 2025. An EP that takes the misanthropic aggression of black metal and points it at the reality of living in a world that tries to define you out of existence. This is black metal as a site of collective survival rather than spectacle.
A mighty release that showcases immense creativity born from the souls of those who believe in what they are doing. This is black metal with feeling, black metal with a point, and black metal that everyone can embrace.

Dissonant, depressive, unflinchingly honest, nihilistic, and incredibly cathartic, this is a summation of P+A+G+E+S (FKA ‘Morning Pages’ from 2014 – 2019) debut album, ‘No More Can Be Done’. The South African doom, atmospheric noise, drone and sludge post-metal trio released it on October 25th, 2025.
Nihilism at its most uncompromising, and nihilism that comes with a highly experimental touch. The trio that is P+A+G+E+S are a damn near indescribable bunch and defy all genre logic across five (four if you pick up the vinyl version) expressive, intense, and elaborate efforts. It’s not that it’s heavy, after all, heavy albums aren’t exactly in short supply, it’s that it embraces misery while exploring the reasons behind it. The world is not in a good place, and day by day, we seem to be careening towards even darker times. Yes, it’s a nihilistic way to think, but it is reality, and that is what P+A+G+E+S explore.

Formed in January 2018, Temples on Mars are an alternative progressive rock band from London, UK, featuring James Donaldson on guitar/vocals, Gerald Gill on guitar, Daz Carikas on bass guitar, and Dean Gibb on drums. They are here to present an accessible, progressive rock sound to Plant Earth!
They released their second full-length album, 'The Last Ship' on October 31st, 2025. A sonically expansive and emotionally charged collection that marks a bold evolution in the band’s sound. Building on the foundations of their critically acclaimed self-titled debut and the darker, electronic explorations of Parallels V.1, the new album pushes boundaries further than ever before.
We spoke to guitarist/vocalist James Donaldson about the new album, the work that went into making it a reality, the challenges experienced, the growth of the band, and so much more.

Released on November 7th, 2025, Shatter & Bloom is Stellvris’ explosive new EP, blending raw emotion, melody, and heaviness into a powerful statement of modern metal strength.
Since forming in 2019, the European metal outfit have built their brand around honesty and emotional depth, exploring pain but also how to turn that pain into power. Here on their new EP, Shatter & Bloom, they deliver their most intense statement yet.
We loved it. Describing it as:
A high-energy, intense, and creative record. When you pack so many ideas, components, and genre switches into a release — and even within individual songs — there’s always a risk of losing some listeners. But Stellvris manage to strike a balance, especially between the electronic elements and the more traditional instrumentation. What’s clear is that this band has real talent: powerful rhythm work, strong guitar and bass tones, and a remarkably versatile vocalist. They know how to use those strengths intelligently, and the crisp production ensures every detail shines through. The result is a modern, ambitious, and fiercely engaging release from a band that looks set to achieve huge things.

The EP has depth, and that is what we explore with vocalist Nicol Hofman. Digging into the detail of the EP, the journey to its release, evolving the Stellvris sound, what the future looks like, and so much more.

How to take over the world – a Melrose Avenue story.
It all just keeps getting bigger, doesn’t it? The Sydney alt-rockers are absolutely soaring, selling out venues around the world, including every single date on their massive UK and European tour which began in London on November 13th.
There, the band debuted their latest track, the achingly beautiful ‘This Is the End’. A track we described as:
It really doesn’t get more emotional than this, and so much of that emotion comes from the authenticity of it all. Just vocals and guitar, super simple, with all the focus being on Vlado’s voice and words. It’s beautiful, and having seen it performed live, it has even more power in that environment too.
Yes, we were there for the London show, and you can read the review of that show here: https://www.gbhbl.com/live-review-melrose-avenue-at-the-dome-london-13-11-25/
The day before the show, the foursome were in London and we sat down with them to talk all things Melrose Avenue. The past, present, and future. For fun, we also challenged them with a special London-based quiz.

German-based alternative outfit Seven Blood will release their debut album ‘Life Is Just a Phase’ on November 21st, 2025.
Seven Blood have arrived, and the world of alternative metal is all the better for it.
Each track hits hard, but it’s not just the music that proves to be so compelling as Seven Blood’s authentic lyrical content makes for an enthralling listen. Especially when the words are being delivered with such power and poise.
A head-turning debut that turns emerging talent into bone fide stars.

Joy Shannon is an Irish harpist and singer whose ethereal and haunting songs come from depths of Irish folklore. Her melodies evoke images of witch’s lairs in dark woods or the distant echoes of the voices of spirits in the ancient places of the Irish countryside.
Joy Shannon’s newest album release In the Forest Singing Sorrowless' is inspired by author J.R.R. Tolkien’s poetry, with Shannon’s original music accompanying Tolkien’s wonderful words. Shannon decided to create this album during a personally challenging year, when she went through medical treatments for breast cancer. Tolkien’s works have always been an inspiration for Shannon, especially to have hope and purpose at the darkest times, so the recording of this album carried her through a difficult time. The resulting album is a mystical dream-walk through Tolkien’s landscapes, through the magical lens of Shannon’s intimate harp and vocals.
This album, the story of its release, the journey that Joy Shannon has been on to make it a reality, the incredible collaborations, and so much more, is what we discuss in this interview.

2025 has been an incredible year for Iranian-Norwegian metallers Confess. Back in January, they released stunning new album, ‘Destination Addiction’, which was produced by frontman Nikan Khosravi, mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated Alberto De Icaza (Amon Amarth, Clutch, Miss May I, Dead Cross, Upon A Burning Body) and featured performances from extreme metal luminaries George Kollias (Nile) and Marzi Montazeri (ex-Phil Anselmo and Illegals, ex-Superjoint Ritual, ex-Exhorder, Heavy As Texas).
Then, in September, the band had their story featured in a full episode as part of the HULU show ‘Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal’. Now, finishing the year off in style, the band are re-releasing their seminal second album ‘In Pursuit of Dreams’ on November 7th, 2025.
Seminal, because it was the last record they dropped while still in Iran, and in frontman Nikan Khosravi’s own words has become:
A lightning rod for rebellion, defiance, and unapologetic expression.
This album, its importance, the decision to re-release it, and much more, is discussed in our interview with Nikan.

Rising swiftly through the ranks of modern metal, Rituals are back with their brand-new EP, ‘Hope in Hatred’, which boasts the Newcastle quartet's most aggressive and cohesive release to date. Armed with a feature from the singer of UK mainstays, Bury Tomorrow's own Tom Prendergast. The five-track record is an onslaught of riffs, monolithic vocals and pure Northern rage.
It is out on November 7th, and we sat down with all four members to talk about it, what they’ve been up to since we last spoke a few years ago, and so much more.

Swedish rock heavyweights Smash Into Pieces are set to unleash their most ambitious album to date, ‘ArmaHeaven’, arriving October 31st, 2025.
Picking up where their previous album Ghost Code left off, the new chapter throws listeners into a dystopian future where Ghostis, now unstoppable, seizes control of the world. As the resistance falls, a new force emerges: an AI-driven entity that sparks an all-out digital war for dominance. The clash escalates into global catastrophe, exploring themes of power, survival, and rebirth. Will humanity find salvation, or will the machines consume themselves in a final great reset?
Constantly setting rock trends, Smash into Pieces return with, arguably, their biggest record to date. Not only because it tells an elaborate story with exciting twists and turns, but because they express this story in anthemic fashion. Come for the rocking heaviness, melodic potency, and chorus-driven delights, but stay for the detail. That’s a simple summation of ArmaHeaven.

Swedish metalcore powerhouse Adept rise again, ushering in a fierce new era with their long-awaited fifth studio album, Blood Covenant, out October 24, 2025, via Napalm Records. Marking a bold new era after nearly a decade of silence, Blood Covenant captures the band at their most intense, dynamic, and emotionally resonant to date across eleven tightly crafted tracks.
It’s so exciting to have Adept back, and not only does ‘Blood Covenant’ live up to the iconic metalcore band’s status, but it pushes forward, offering fresh ideas and showcasing undeniable creative spirit. Is it the best Adept album to date? That’s a tough call, but it’s certainly impressive that it’s even in the conversation.
We’re not the only ones excited about Adept’s return either, as vocalist Robert Ljung spoke to us and shared a ton of detail about their journey to this point. We also dug into the guts of the album’s creative period, seeing fans embrace the return of Adept with gusto, bringing the new songs to the live stage, and so much more.

Belgian psychedelic post-metal masters Psychonaut return with their triumphant new album World Maker, released 24th October via Pelagic Records.
This record takes the form of life lessons for guitarist/vocalist Stefan De Graef son, who at the time of album writing, learned he was to be a father. There’s very little as life changing as that, and although misery would follow not long after the birth of De Graef’s son as the devastating news that both his own father and Psychonaut bassist/vocalist Thomas Michiels’ father had been diagnosed with advanced cancers, the record is still focused on the positive experience of becoming a dad. It doesn’t matter if you can relate or not, you’ll be able to understand the feeling in this record, regardless.
Psychonaut may never make an album quite like this again, that is how unique an effort it is, but long-term fans won’t be turned off by it either as so much of what makes them who they are is present. It’s the most contemporary the band has sounded, and with that, comes something truly unforgettable.

We spoke to vocalist/guitarist Stefan De Graef about ‘World Maker’ and its unique place in the Psychonaut catalogue. When somebody divulges a secret, you don’t just hear it; you carry it with you.
Making you privy to intimate thoughts and feelings, this exchange represents the highest level of trust. Greyhaven tap into the sound of truths unleashed - messy in its disjointed and extreme edges, magnetic in its entrancing and enigmatic melodies, and massive in its emotional outpour. The Louisville, KY band - Brent Mills [vocals], Nick Spencer [guitar], Johnny Muench [bass], and Ethan Spray [drums] - sonically and personally lay everything on the table with their third full-length album, Keep It Quiet.
Out now via Solid State Records, the open and honest album is the topic of conversation in this interview with vocalist Brent Mills. We really dig into the album, but also have some fun talking about tour life, the satisfaction that comes from connecting with people, and so much more.

Canadian heavy music pioneers Kittie marked a quarter-century milestone with the release of ‘Spit XXV’, a four-track EP celebrating the 25th anniversary of their gold-certified debut album. The collection features freshly re-recorded versions of ‘Brackish XXV’, ‘Charlotte XXV’, ‘Do You Think I’m A Whore XXV’ and the title track ‘Spit XXV’, all produced, once again, by Garth Richardson who helmed the original 1999 sessions at EMAC Studios.
There’s nothing to complain about here, and these versions don’t replace the originals, so if you prefer them, have at it. However, for the rest of us, it’s a chance to drown in nostalgia and appreciate just how far this band has come. All hail Kittie.

This EP comes as Kittie are enjoying a revival, of sorts, having released their album ‘Fire’ in June 2024, their first new album since 2011’s I’ve Failed You.
Kittie aren’t trying to re-capture the fire of old, rather, they’re starting a brand-new one, and thanks to some really killer tracks, it promises to be one hell of an inferno.

This revival, and the ride the band have been on since, is just one part of this interview, where we break Kittie down with drummer and founding member, Mercedes Lander. We look back at who Kittie was, look at who Kittie became, but we also look to the future too and look at who Kittie is now. As well as so much more.

After more than three decades, Swiss pioneering technical metallers Coroner return with a new studio album. Dissonance Theory will be released on October 17th, 2025, worldwide via Century Media Records.
What does a new Coroner album look like in 2025, three decades (plus) after the release of the last one? It’s a question that every listener will contemplate and it’s a question that the band have clearly thought long and hard about too. Refusing to dredge the rivers of the past only and instead take a deep plunge into the dark unknown in an attempt to find relevancy. A challenge, and Coroner treat it more like a swinging pendulum, going back and forth, effortlessly combining modern technical flourishes with old-school thrashy intensity, and so much more. It’s not about the past, but it’s not quite about the future either.
So… what does a new Coroner album look like in 2025, three decades (plus) after the release of the last one? The answer is pretty damn simple. It looks and sounds mighty fine.

We’re not the only ones asking that question though. It’s a question that guitarist/backing vocalist Tommy Vetterli has asked to, and it’s something we get into here. As well as look back at the Coroner that was, all the work that has gone into getting them to this point, the new album, and so much more.

Essex death metallers Beyond Extinction released their long-awaited debut full-length, ‘Where They Gather’, on September 26th, 2025. The culmination of pain, work and progress across more than three years of suffering and observations through the lens of nihilism.
Honestly, it’s a miracle that Beyond Extinction are still standing. Having gone through more than any band should with the death of founding member Zach Scott in 2023. It’s the sort of heartbreaking and soul-destroying event that could end a band, but through adversity Beyond Extinction have found strength, and this album is testament to that. It’s not a happy listen, it’s not a feel-good experience, it’s destructive and dystopian, relentlessly heavy and harsh, but goodness, does it kick all kinds of ass.

We spoke with vocalist Jasper Harmer about releasing the record, the journey to this point, how personal a record it is, the incredible response so far, building their live reputation, and so much more.

Conjurer, one of the UK’s most vital and uncompromising metal bands, return with their third album 'Unself', out 24th October via Nuclear Blast Records.
A bright and brilliant showcase of their evolution, one that comes via personal upheaval. Notably, the voyage of discovery unfurling for vocalist/guitarist Dani Nightingale. Diagnosed with autism at age 31, their long-held view of self, and perception of their place in the world began to unravel. Unself documents much of the piecing back together around the diagnosis, alongside the realisation they were non-binary.
It’s darker, more vulnerable and more purposeful, a raw exploration of belonging and disconnection against a collapsing modern world.
This is just one aspect of this interview that we explore with Dani in this interview. As well as looking at the journey of Conjurer to this point, their natural evolution from Mire (2018) through to Páthos (2022), why this needed to happen, their upcoming headline UK tour, and so much more.

Doesn’t it feel like ten56. have been around for much longer than they actually have? That’s the impact they’ve had since they first arrived five years ago and delivered their gargantuan debut album, ‘Downer’. Now, having learned so much over the past few years, least of all how to bring their intense sound to the stage, they’re back with something that is darker, heavier, and more savage. Yes, you read that right, this is a much harsher effort, and if that’s not a reason to get excited, I don’t know what the hell we’re even doing then.
‘IO’ is their sophomore album, out now via Out of Line, and it is ten56.’s moment to shine, and even though it comes coated in darkness, it is bright and brilliant.
