Description

GREEN WORLD In a Pod questions our world and society with the aim of amplifying ideas, people, and practices Rooted To Last.

A series of conversations for those living by the firm belief we need to delve our energy and focus onto that which we want to see more of, instead of dwelling on what needs to change. Together we nourish the vision for a greener future through present bold actions and thoughts of these amazing entrepreneurs.

Hosted by Tanya Gervasi - entrepreneur, model and sustainability activist

THIS EPISODE IS IN ITALIAN.
Lukasz Luczaj is an ethnobotanist and.......... so much more! After this conversation actually I feel he is also somewhat a philosopher.  Apart from the work in Academia he has a large wild garden in the Carpathians where, since 2002, he organizes cooking workshops with wild plants, fungi and insects, being one of the predecessors of the foraging movement in Europe. Łukasz authored a few popular books on edible plants and insects, books about connecting with nature and a manual how to make love outdoors, as well as a few cooking television programmes. The conversation is juicy! Spacing from wild living to sex in nature. Sometimes we get lost and busy in our battle to save the world and forget that without love, no amount of salads and vegetables can truly save us. Heartful episode featuring the Polish Grzegorz Lapanowski & Katarzyna Woznicka ... and SKOLA NA VIDELCU FOUNDATION. Grzegorz is a chef, cookbook author and tv personality (you might know him as being one of the judges on TOP CHEF Poland). He founded "school on the fork foundation" at the beginning of his career becoming a strong advocate of healthy eating among children and young people. He now left and doesn't manage the projects anymore, this is where Katarzyna comes in as she works at the foundation and is 100% engaged in the mission.  This conversation has touched me deeply! Fascinating episode discussing British food culture with author and food historian Laura Mason. Laura is not present on any Social Media platform. Moreover, I am sad to let you know that Laura passed away a few months after this interview.
In this episode we talk about image ownership and responsibility from the point of view of the artist with the wonderful Lily Cummings - American artist and photographer living in Berlin. Links to Lily Cummings instagram @lililand @bodies_on_paper + lilicummings.com
Carmen Ordiz is the founder of G de Gastronomia: blog, podcast and Instagram influencing/educational page. The turning out of this episode was unexpected. I had planned on discussing traditional Spanish cuisine, instead Carmen took me on a fantastic journey of her life giving me shivers and filling me with hope and inspiration. Carmen is also the only influencer I know with a proper academic background aligned with her business: a Bachelor in Gastronomic Sciences and Cultures and a Master in social media marketing, making G DE GASTRONOMIA a more than valid source of information and education (as well as entertainment). One of the topics discussed in our chat is precisely nowadays' role of a gastronome and the importance of being a bridge. Tune in to find out more! Today's guest is the visionary and entrepreneur Jason Hartley - also a British living in Slovenia. He founded Cultisan, an app that allows you to connect with producers and farmers' markets all over the world. The idea is to make small scale, family run businesses more accessible to the public because a sustainable (and green world) future will be fed by farmers - not corporations. We discuss the world of advertising, the chef life and the importance of food. Links to Jason Hartley instagram @cultisan + cultisan.com
Sarah Ann Macklin is ... a model, nutritionist, public speaker, and recipes developer. On top of that she founded The Be Well Collective, a not for profit organisation whose aim is to reduce the rates of eating disorders and mental health issues within the fashion industry. An interesting episode where we discuss: - the importance of bringing scientific data to an industry obsessed with trends - models claiming to be healthy based on what is trending as healthy atm (familiar with green juices and avocado toasts?) - the British government campaign addressing obesity Links to Sarah Ann Macklin instagram @sarahannmacklin + sarahannmacklin.com Links to Be Well Collective instagram @be_well_collective + bewellcollective.co.uk + podcast Live Well Be Well
Aine is the supermodel co-founder of Model Mafia: a global community of hundreds of models who work together to make the fashion industry and world more sustainable, just and equitable. Basically a community of models who care! Aine and I have a wonderful conversation about social activism as a model, highlighting how tricky it may be at times to be a model and an activist. We also talk about the responsibilities of supermodels, especially when it comes to creating a better environment for those models who are not known nor have a voice. Ultimately being a model is complex! Especially when you are someone sensitive, who cares about the job and the environmental/social impact of your industry, and who loves creativity and fashion.
