Whether it’s a note thanking the people who got them here or inspiration for the next step, graduates from the GW Class of 2015 get creative with their Commencement caps.
Tim Cook, Apple CEO and one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People, addressed the George Washington University’s Class of 2015 at Commencement on the National Mall. In a speech about his influences and the responsibility of a person to follow his or her values, Mr. Cook told the new graduates, “The sidelines are not where you want to live your life. The world needs you in the arena.”
On May 17, 2015, the George Washington University celebrated Commencement on the National Mall with addresses from Apple CEO Tim Cook and student speaker U.S. Marine Capt. Richard Ruiz. Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Carole M. Watson received honorary degrees from the university.
U.S. Marine Capt. Richard Ruiz addressed his fellow graduates as the student speaker for 2015 Commencement on the National Mall. He has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal with valor and in 2014 was selected for a master’s degree in GW’s leadership education and development program.
