CW: religious trauma, satanism, sexual violence, torture, nudity. It's October, and we're back with a horror movie - Alucarda (1977), a story about orphans, nuns, satanism, vampires, and lesbians?
Have you ever felt like something's not quite right? It must be because you haven't listened to our episode on I Saw the TV Glow! Just kidding, but if you have seen the film, join the Erins as they talk about difficult questions, Evangelion, and maybe even get a bit emotional. Listen now! CW: Discussion of transphobia, child abuse.
CW: Sexual harassment, abusive relationships, exploitation, suicide. This week, we try to parse David Lynch's 2001 film, Mulholland Drive. What does it mean? Why is it lesbian? What do lesbians think about it? Twin Perfect's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiCfHW3N3vo
The Erins just got their suitcase stolen, and the only thing left to their name is a VHS tape of Showgirls (1995) - the topic of this week’s episode! Join them as they dive into the movie and discuss: Is it bad, or is it just camp? Maybe it’s both! Listen along to find out.
CW: Biphobia, homophobia, domestic violence, graphic violence/murder, body horror, gun use, steroid use This week, we're talking about Rose Glass's new A24 movie, Love Lies Bleeding, starring Katy O'Brian as a drifting bodybuilder who falls for Kristen Stewart, a gym manager with a crime-filled past. One of us liked this, and one of us didn't.... Join us as we talk about what we did (and didn't) like!
CW: Transphobia After two years, Samantha is back! She joins to talk about Tom Hooper's The Danish Girl, based on the book of the same name. The Erins and Samantha go off topic like never before! But is it really off topic when the movie does Lili Elbe such little justice? Give this episode a listen to find out!

CW: teacher/student relationships, suicide, murder, abandonment, loved ones with cancer This week, we talk through what has been translated of Kyouko Ariyoshi's 1990s yuri manga, Applause. The translation includes two stories - Bruges, the tale of girls at a retreat reenacting a murder story, and San Francisco Story, a tale of love and pining and pride parades. We loved this manga and encourage you to seek it out!!!
