Episode 17 Yeeeeerrrrrr What's Goody #GeekdupGang the Tri-Force Is back with another banging ass Episode. As usual the Gang starts off with some Nerd News and Thaiger sends a birthday shout out to Studio Ghibli Hayao Miyazaki who turned 81 on January 5th!! After that she tells us about some Anime trailers that was released one of them being Fruits Basket. Chief Chris then let's the fans know that Morbius Has been pushed back to April 1st of 2022 Typical Sony. He also mentions that Sonic Frontier has also been pushed back as it was suppose to drop last year 2021 for the 30th Anniversary of the Game. Mac then let's us know that Demon Slayer season 2 will only have 11 episodes and then he tells us that Invincible has been renewed for two more seasons but the catch is they haven't even started production. Thaiger the let's us know about Manga Piracy has increased 26 times since 2020 it was at 12.5 million per month and in 2021 it has grown to 326 million!!! Total lost for top 10 piracy sites is 780 billion yen or 6.77 billion US Dollars!!! Thaiger let's us know shield hero season 2 is coming out and Boba Fett. Adidas also came out with a line for Star Wars. And last but not least Mac tells us that Attack On Titans will be back January 9th. Also shout out to Tyrie my co worker for listening in. Happy New Year Geek’d Up Gang! We’re back to kick off the 2022 right with news of anticipated releases to come in 2022 and 2023 and we also get into our long awaited review of Spider-Man “No Way Home”. Diving into our Nerd News segment, Chris announced the producer of Final Fantasy 16 apologized for not showing more of the game in 2021. Due to delays caused by Covid-19 the next big reveal won’t be until Spring of 2022 according to IGN.com. Chief remains hopeful of the next drop to come. He breaks down the history as the game evolved with Nintendo and GameCube systems. Thaiger brings up the removal of Tokyo Revenger’s voice actor, Tatsuhisa Suzuki. He’s known for voicing Drakken from Tokyo Revengers, Ban from Seven Deadly Sins and Anos Voldigoad from Misfit of Demon King Academy. He’s being removed from these 3 anime series due to a cheating scandal with Demon Slayer singer, LiSA. The queen then announces the pre-registiontration and special teaser of the Takt Op Destiny Mobile Game was released on Christmas, and finally she brings up the new trailer for The Batman: The Bat and the Cat starring Robert Patterson and introducing Zoe Kravitz as the new Cat Woman. Mac brings up all the backlash Zoe has been receiving for being chosen for the role but Thaiger and Chief ain’t having it. Chief confesses his doubts about Robert Patterson playing Batman but Mac thinks differently and wants to remain open minded. Mac brings up the drop of the 2022 Bleach Trailer for the “Thousand Year Blood Arc” and the season premiere delay to October 2022 for the new season. Chief announces the passing of John Madden, the face of the multi-billion dollar video game franchise. The famous commentator will forever be remembered as a nostalgic part of our childhoods. The gang breaks into the new releases set to come out in 2022. Thaiger starts with The Faraway Paladin which was confirmed on Christmas day to get a season 2. No official dates have been given as of yet. Next the queen reminds us AOT is back on Jan 9th with ep 76, part 2 of the final season. The episode is called “Condemnation”. She also gives her opinion on the 8 newly released episodes from the DVD collection. Finally Thaiger gets the crew hip to Odd Taxi which is set to come out with Season 2 in April of 2022. Lord Mac runs down a list of previously mentioned anime that will be coming out in 2022 and 2023. Chief brings up the return of Black Clover and My Hero Academia. He shares how surprised he is at how quickly the series is coming back after the last season. Mac shares his excitement over the Chainsaw man coming out. Thaiger leads the gang into the Marvel Universe with news of Shang-Chi’s Simu Liu and his opinion on super hero fashion. Last but not least the team finally gets into the Spider-Man movie! Mac and Chris go crazy and give the movie all the praise as it garnered an impressive $1 billion in one week at the box office. Mac notes this is the first movie to break $1billion since the covid era. The squad discussed how the movie experience was in their respective theaters during this ending of the trilogy with Spider-Man. Chief brings up this was supposed to be Tom Holland’s last Spider Man but due to the success of the movie fans are talking about another one with him. Mac disagrees with how Tom handled his role and shouldn’t be returning. Chris notes how the best friends and side characters stepped up in this movie. Mac theorizes that his best friend may turn on Spider-Man in the future leading to more movies. The crew get into their favorite parts about the movie. Chris starts by bringing up Dr. Strange and him stepping in with Tony’s absence. Thaiger notices how in the last couple movies everyone has been looking to Dr. Strange and Wong for leadership. Mac wants to fanboy with Thaiger over the villains coming back. William Defoe stole the movie with his portrayal of the Green Goblin

Funimation and crunchyroll are giving an early Christmas present. These came out Dec 19th. Hell’s Paradise:Jigokuraku anime trailer was released on Sunday. Its being animated by Studio MAPPA, which is known for the heavy hitters Attack on Titan, Jujustu Kaisen, and God of High School. Yesterday the teaser for the new Tokyo Revengers arc came out. “Christmas Showdown” is confirmed to be produced- PonyCanyon Official Twitter. Next up we jump into some of our favorite Bushido Anime of all time. Chief Chris leads off talking about the Kenshin which some would consider to be the Best Bushido Samurai Anime of all time. Thaiger then gets into her bag with Samurai Champloo. She tells us about some of her favorite scenes and even gets into her music bag as all the fans know she loves when it comes to anime. Hip hop is so interwoven within this anime series its incredible. From Mugen’s fighting style, to the random beat boxer and freestyler with the pompador. They even had the old tape reel effect with the cuttin of the record in the background or at the end of an episode. After Thaiger its Mac turn to take us into the world of Basilisk where him and Thaiger get pretty deep into it and even pick a side of which Clan they was down and riding for. Thaiger announces that the Netflix Series Cowboy Bebop has officially been canceled for its 2nd season. The team expresses how pissed they are over the amount of hate the series received. We also send our prayers and condolences to the family of the scriptwriter for Cowboy Bebop. Keiko Nobumoto, who recently passed away at the age of 57. The crew discuss which live action adaptations were done right and some that were just terrible! Thaiger also announces Halo Infinite has been released. The geek’d up gang go over Letitia Wright, “Shuri” from Black Panther, who still will not be returning to the set. She left in the summer due to an injury. Even though Disney issued a vaccination mandate earlier in summer of 2021, she refuses to be vaccinated. Chief Chris also Announces that the trailer for Sonic 2 has been released. Gang finds out that Idris Elba is the voice actor of none other than Knuckles!!! Chief Chris also lets us know that the next Marvel film being released on Disney plus will be Eternals, on January 12th. Wow! That was fast! Next up, Mac tells us the President(Kondo Haikaru) of the animation studio company for Demon Slayer will be getting arrested for tax evasion. He is accused of hiding $1.2 million dollars.Though Kondo Haikaru paid a fine of $30 million yen, he’s facing 20 months in jail. The moment we’ve all been waiting for: we go full Nerd Slayer and talk about the long awaited return of Demon Slayer season 2 Mugen Train/ Entertainment District! Yeeerrrr! Welcome back #GeekdupGang to another banging episode! Thaiger dives right into #NerdNews and announces the season 4 release of Golden Kamuy will be in 2022 by Brain’s Base. Everyone gets excited learning the new staff that has been added to the production of the new season. Thaiger then announces the release of the complete season in the chapter of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures: Stone Ocean on Netflix. Chief Chris lets everyone know the second movie in the Spider-verse is being released soon called “Across the Spider-verse 2”. Macc is looking forward to the continuation of the Miles Morales storyline. Chris and Macc debate if playing the videogame is even worth it considering the DLC, pay-to-play format. Kicking it right off, Macc jumps headfirst into the Cowboy Bebop Live-Action. The gang tackle the biggest complaints we heard back from the nerd community surrounding the live action actors. We all talk about how true to the anime the live action stays and where it strays from the original story. PSA: *GEEK’D UP DOES NOT PROMOTE SMOKING CIGS* The crew breaks down the villains and the plot twist we all saw coming at the end of the series. Overall, the tri-force was disappointed in Vicious, but Chris does admit to adding Julia to his playlist SMH. Chief asks the gang if we felt bad about Spike betraying his bff Vicious. It gets wild with the analogies so hold on! Macc doubles down on his disappointment in Spike/Fearless. Geek’d up discuss the purpose of the brief introduction of Ed at the end of the series. Chief makes his predictions for the future of the show and we reminisce over Toonami glory days. Thaiger takes us into our 86 discussion with a summary of the backstory. Gang builds context around this apocalyptic mecha anime but then Macc confesses his love for Naruto again by slandering Deku and Asta. Thaiger steers the convo back on track by doing the sciences on the first season of 86. She connects 86 to AOT with their similarities in mental health topics and brother issues as we dissect the main character, Shin (Shinigami). The crew breaks down the differences in the second season compared to the first. We share our frustrations of how season 2 ends and where the series is going in the future.
