Thaaaat's right folks, it's a Star Wars episode! We give you our spoiler-free thoughts and feelings on Episode 9 as well as a look at the Star Wars universe as a whole, how we're all part of it and how we can all make it a better place, much like The Force itself. Goodbye Duke

Goodbye Duke

2020-01-0130:16

Welcome to 2020! Sorry to kickstart it on a bit of a bummer, but in today's episode we pay tribute to our White German Shepherd Duke, who sadly passed away of natural causes. We'll forever miss his big, stupid smile and his fur being everywhere.  We also talk about what being big dog owners has taught us and our thoughts for the future. We miss you buddy, you're a good boy.
#podtober day 2 people, we actually did it! Despite getting back from a six hour road trip we made ourselves record and edit and we're glad we did. In this episode we give one of the most iconic film couples of all time the Ship or Sink treatment, and it was the couple who made us want to start this in the first place! Listen in now to find out whether the rogue with a heart of gold and the strong princess sail on the tide or go down with it... Now also on YouTube!
Heyo, welcome to the first episode of #podtober! That means one episode per day, every day of October for a total of 31 episodes of Geeks & Marriage! We'll mix in some Tea Talks like this one when we just talk about life stuff and a bunch of Ship or Sinks from your favourite TV shows and films! Check out our favourite place to go for delightful teas, today's flavour was Go Go Goa, tastes like a milder chai - https://www.t2tea.com/en/uk/tea/go-go-goa-teabag-gift-cube-T82.html Also now on YouTube!
Coming back to you in a big way and we cover the primary 4 relationships of the Big Bang Theory. See how we feel about the relationships of Penny & Leonard, Sheldon & Amy, Howard & Bernadette and finally Raj & Anu (it's the best we had for him).  We take a look at these end-game relationships in detail and see if they'd work in real life, do they ship or do they sink? (Now with sound effects!). Stay tuned at the end for a tasty little blooper and how Alex sounds in pain.
Yes you heard it here first folks, Geeks & Marriage are moving up to the great north! In this episode we talk about why, how we made the decision and how we're going to catalog our new and wonderful adventure for all of you folks at home to enjoy!
Today Alex & Maggie take on one of the most adorable couples on TV right now, Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It's a classic situation of opposites attract, but it's much more developed than that, and we talk about it in almost rambling (Maggie) detail! Listen in now to hear whether we think they'd work in real life or not!
Today Alex & Maggie take on the commanding officers of The Orville, Captain Ed Mercer and Commander Kelly Grayson! These two were married, divorced and now command a science ship together in the middle of space. Nothing Alex and Maggie can't handle! Listen in to hear whether or not they'd work in reality compared to the TV show.

Okay so this episode...is a weird one. See the list below for why! 1. The audio is super weird, we're quieter than usual, there's a bit of an echo and there's some white background noise for some reason. None of this showed up in the test recordings. 2. We confused the Kree from Marvel will the Krell from the book we're reading at the minute...so sorry in advance for all that. 3. We were super tired. Other than that, enjoy the episode and don't forget to let us know which trailers so far in 2019 have you pumped! Second Day of Podmas!

Second Day of Podmas!

2018-12-1516:26

...a rant about their old alma mater, Sunderland Uni! Second day of podmas is here and just for you we...basically rant and bitch about our university and general policies regarding graduation in the UK, but especially ours! Alex didn't bother attending his graduation, but Maggie did and she has plenty to say on the topic! Xmas Ruf - In the Netherlands, Sinterklaas (the Dutch version of Santa Claus) arrives from Spain, not from the North Pole. And that’s not the only weird thing about the Dutch Christmas. Sinterklaas has his little helpers, but they are not adorable hard-working elves: they are black-faced boys and girls who can steal your kids if they misbehave, and bring them to back Spain which is, according to the Dutch, a severe punishment. First Day of Podmas!

First Day of Podmas!

2018-12-1415:39

...a summary of their trip to Glasgow! First day of Podmas has arrived and with it, a quick review of our trip up north to see a philharmonic orchestra perform the music of Star Wars Episode VI: A New Hope with the film playing in the background. It. Was. Awesome. We also visited the xmas markets and discovered the absolute heaven that is Tim Hortons, just another reason to move to Canada in the future. These episodes will be shorter and feature a fun xmas fact at the end. The good news? It's December! Xmas RUF - Jingle Bells was written for Thanksgiving, not Christmas. The song was written in 1857 by James Lord Pierpont and published under the title “One Horse Open Sleigh”. It was supposed to be played in the composer’s Sunday school class during Thanksgiving as a way to commemorate the famed Medford sleigh races. “Jingle Bells” was also the first song to be broadcast from space. We took a trip down to London last weekend to visit the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour and we'll talk you through what we found. Maggie loves Harry Potter and loved the tour, she cried at a special moment in the tour but we won't tell you what it is just in case it's a bit of a spoiler. Alex isn't too keen on Harry Potter but enjoyed the tour from a technical aspect of it, all the props and effort that went into the creation of the world-famous franchise was quite interesting. Let us know what you think of Harry Potter and if you've been on the tour, what was your favourite part? Check out our last episode on the website where we talk about Doctor Who Season 11 up to now. Sharing is caring, find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram & don't forget to subscribe and leave us a review! If you want to support the channel, send us a coffee over on Ko-Fi Random Useless Fact - One of the reasons marijuana is illegal today is because cotton growers in the 1930s lobbied against hemp farmers they saw it as competition. Good News - Curiosity Rover has found organic matter on Mars
In today's episode, we talk about their thoughts on Doctor Who Season 11 so far. Some of the episodes up to now have been better, some have been worse. Some have been subtle and others have been a brick over the head with their political messages. We also discuss whether the new direction is in line with the overall feel of Doctor Who and whether it should be used for educational, subtle political messages or should simply be used as an escape from the real world. Things get rather...heated in this episode. Let us know what you think in the comments section below or via social media, links to which can be found in most places! Check out our last episode on the website where we talk about how much we love Xmas! Sharing is caring, find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram & don't forget to subscribe and leave us a review! Prepare for some sultry tones and heinous coughing because Alex is super ill in this episode where we talk about loving xmas. It's related to last year's episode we did for xmas, so be sure to check that out when you get a chance. Let us know in the comments when you decorate and how you feel about the season in general. We agree on a couple and typically disagree on a few more, but it's all there just waiting for you to listen! The questions:- Serve under Mal or Raynor? Live in Roshar or Scadrial? Be a Mistborn or Feruchemist? Fight crime with Sherlock or be the Doctor’s companion? Check out our last episode on the website where we talk about Jack Ryan & The Mandalorian.
