Dar, Chris and Bob (regulars) start us off with Season 5 by comparing our high school dating rules and experiences from three generational perspectives with surprising contrasts. Can you guess who followed the rules and who didn't? Reminiscing and telling our stories brought out both laughter and questions. Did it help us find our life partner that we married? Bet you can't help to reminisce about your own high school days for better or worse.
Helen and Layla return as our guests along with a cameo from Chris for a special final episode of season 4. This episode has four generations sharing their unique phrases and slang. Bet you're not familiar with all the phrases mentioned in this episode. Here's a few examples: fiddlesticks, jalopy, phat, home slice, dip, diss, bae, fomo, aura, riz, dress to the nine and girl math. Listen and learn about the special, secret languages of four generations.
Our friend, Helen, returns as our guest millennial to help us with this important topic. It's important because love and relationships are a primary force that can result in happiness or misery. Episode 11 is especially thought-provoking as we each share our multi-generational life's lessons and experiences and some of these stories should resonate with you. We always ask for comments from our listeners. This time it's with a PLEASE that you share your important life experiences about making and keeping relationships because we can share it anonymously and your story could help someone else. Millennial Chris, our production guy, joined us again for this episode. We've all made mistakes and maybe some we regret. In this episode we discuss both kinds of mistakes and we get a little deep and philosophical about the consequences of making life's choices. It's hard to admit mistakes and especially those we regret, but Episode 4.10 has us digging up past choices made to discuss what we usually don't discuss in public.
We welcome back our friend Helen from Chicago to share her pet story. Most people would agree that pets have been or are an important part of their lives and the stories in this episode would definitely confirm that statement. Perhaps that's why this episode has some of the funniest stories along with some sadness. I know I've said it before, but you don't want to miss this episode. Episode 4.9 has it all. 🙂
Jen, one of our original members, joins us in what became one of our most far ranging episodes. We usually stick to the topic, but not this time. Episode 8 starts on topic with rumors, but quickly transitions to reputations in high school, whether you want to be popular and talked about, do opposites attract and finally partners evolving in marriage. All that in only 13 minutes. Bet you won't find that in another podcast. 😏 Season 4 still has four more fun and interesting episodes. Look for them about every 2 weeks.
This episode is about the hardest job , but it's about a lot more than a hard job. It's about struggle, perseverance, learning, benefits, survival, and getting stronger. Our guest millennial, Chris, join our regulars Dar and Bob to tell three very different stories of their struggles with a hard job and how they coped, benefited and ultimately learned and became stronger. It's true, if it doesn't kill you you can become a better and stronger person, but what factors help make that happen? Listen to Episode 7 and see if you can find out.
Most everyone has a restaurant story and the ones we tend to remember are usually the bad experiences. Our friend Helen joins us again as our guest millennial in this episode and we do not disappoint. Hear stories of raw fish staring off the plate 🐟, being cheated on chintzy gluten-free food, and being cussed out in the parking lot by wait staff 🤬 . Oh! Almost forgot, there are positive stories and even a money-saving tip on a chain restaurant. Join us and we guaranteed you will not be bored.
Once again we have four generations as we welcome back Jen and meet Layla who represents the Z generation. Who came up with this topic was asked during the recording. At first it does sound lame because it's supposed to be useless. Surprisingly, most superpowers turned out to have some interesting usefulness to varying degrees. However, you might question being able to talk to squirrels. 🙂 As with most topics, including off the wall ones, we managed to have a few good laughs and lots of fun discussing it. Bet you will have fun listening to it too.
Ever wonder what it's like to grow old? Wouldn't it be great to have a book that would give you tips on what might happen so that you can be prepared? Or maybe you're old enough to have a few helpful tips that you would include in a book on growing old. Let us know at Genxyandi@gmail.com and we'll share them. Don't miss Episode 4 because it will make you think, smile and laugh.
Episode 3 welcomes back our good friend Helen who traveled all the way from Chicago. Everyone has their own taste and each of us either love or hate different foods. How does that change as we get older? What foods do you still hate and do they match any of ours? Listen to Episode 3 and find out. Also let us know if there's any strange or interesting foods that you either love or hate.

This is the last episode of Season 3 and we're glad to share it with our far traveling guest millennial, Muralee, who traveled all the way from Austria to be on our podcast. Not really, however, he did travel all the way from downstate Michigan while on vacation from his work in Austria. We are honored to have him join our discussion in episode 11 about other career paths each of us might have taken. Life presents each of us with various forks in the road and where we end up depends upon which route we take. This episode also reveals one of the longest human names I have ever known. If you know of a longer name please share it at GenXYandI@gmail.com so that we can pass it along to our listeners.
We are known as three generations of positive people not adrenaline junkies. But maybe there's a part of each of us that would like to try something dangerous and exciting at least once in our lives. Episode 10 reveals how adventurous we are and it includes our friend and guest millennial Helen. Have you ever considered going on an exciting, scary, extreme adventure? What was it and did you do it? We'd love to hear about it at GenXYandI@gmail.com
Parents try to instill in their offspring values and behaviors that they would like them to follow. Most are good and important, but there may be one or two quirky ones that you just couldn't wait to get rid of. WARNING 😉, This episode is PG-13 rated if you care about table etiquette. You may want to listen to this late at night if you have youngsters around. Did your parent(s) have any quirky behavior that you wanted to get rid of? Listen to what we came up with with along our guest millennial Melissa.
Did different generations get into different or worse troubles when they were kids? We thought we would explore this topic by making it one of our podcasts. Guess which one of us got into the worst trouble, Bob, Dar, or our guest millennial, Erin? Listen and find out in less than 15 minutes.
We thought it would be interesting to hear what different teenage spare time behavior was between a millennial who was born in India, an X generation born and raised in Detroit and a silent generation who was a teen in Chicago in the 1950s. Episode 3.7 lived up to our expectations. See if you agree. Our international guest millennial, Muralee, who currently lives and works in Austria joins us again for this episode. Wonder who was the wildest teen?
In this episode our podcast could be called GenXYI &Z because not only do we have a guest millennial, Jen (a regular), but we also have our first guest Z generation, Isaac. This episode is about what annoys both young and old about food, whether it's the type of food, the taste, the way it is used or the way it is eaten. Since everyone has an opinion about food its something that you can relate to. Connect with us at GenXYandI@gmail.com .
Is it love or like? Whether you're married or not, Episode 5 brings up interesting dynamics from three different generations on how this important life decision was made and what keeps us together for 2, 4 and 53 years. Do you have a different perspective or experience? Please share it at GenXYandI@gmail.com . Also meet Erin, this episode's guest millennial.
