13 Episodes
After a brief hiatus, Karen and Ming are back covering a variety of topics. The ladies discuss the unfortunate passing of the Legendary DMX (who Ming saw at her very first concert) and Black Rob and breakdown how black men are portrayed in the media as well as in TV and Film. Does social media play a bigger role in mental health and insecurities? They give their take on this topic as well as its effects on body image and if influencers such as Kevin Samuels further the cause or perpetuate the stereotype. The ladies also discuss a few of their favorites including current favorite TV shows, foods they love and their favorite artists and concerts they can’t wait to attend again.
This week, the ladies have a very candid conversation with Mother, Pastor and Author Sarah Jakes Roberts on her new book “Woman Evolve: Break Up With Your Fears and Revolutionize Your Life!” Karen and Ming ask Sarah about topics ranging from healing and forgiveness to authenticity and “owning your past.” Sarah discusses everything from learning to live out what you speak and transparency in her fellowship to perceptions of the church, a YES-day with her kids and her process for writing this latest book. This is definitely an episode you don’t want to miss!
Karen and Ming catch up to discuss the new “outside” and the mistreatment of women across the different time zones. They discuss the double standards, inaccuracies and half-truth media narratives that women like Khloe Kardashian & J.Lo face as well as those who are fighting daily for their lives, as evidenced by the recent Asian hate crimes across the world and the #HikeForHaiti movement.    The women close the show dedicating $10,000 to (2) more women-run businesses.
Karen and Ming welcome special guest and 3rd “Boss Best Friend” Olori Swank to the pod to celebrate her Birthday and catch up on all things, from how they met one another and Olori’s hiatus from the world to dealing with Functional Depression and dating during Covid! They also give a surprise call to their first two #Women4Women contest winners live and award them $10,000 dollars each.
Karen and Ming catch up on both finally being “outside,” from Mongs trip to Africa, to Karen heading to NYC for Bobby Shmurda’s homecoming and discuss notable women in culture, giving them their flowers and acknowledging their achievements, all while celebrating Women’s History Month announcing a BIG 50K giveaway for Women Entrepreneurs all month long!
Imani “HoodHealer” taps into her healing gift as we discuss everything from zodiac signs, the misconceptions of spiritual work and overcoming depression and suicide to dating, black women’s health being overlooked constantly and learning to honor your highest self.
