We are so excited to be joined by author and influencer Eli Rallo (also known as “Gen Z’s Carrie Bradshaw”) for a discussion on navigating dating, friendship, happiness, and career in your 20s. Eli shares how she got her start on TikTok and leveraged the success into a book deal, and gives advice for how to stay authentic to yourself and block out the haters. Then we discuss how she was able to stop dating only for validation and really find herself, and then find love. And she shares her rules for approaching dating so it’s more fun/less pressure, why you should try people out in different settings, and the astrological signs that are most likely to plan an amazing date, cry during sex, ghost you, and more. Before Eli joins us, we’re answering the question “Is there a sexy way to spit on a dick?”, plus Rayna is in reality TV heaven and Ashley is in a love triangle. Enjoy! If you want to stop f*cking around with f*ckboys and lock down a daddy, this episode is for you! We are joined by Niko Emanuilidis (the Dean of The Daddy Academy) to explain some of that confusing male behavior and give tips and tools for how to get what you want. He explains how a healthy, confident man pursues a woman, shares the truth behind “If he wanted to, he would”, answers the question “Should I follow up on date plans if I haven’t heard from him?”, and outing guys who are running a roster. We also talk about “indicators of interest” and why they’re important, why you shouldn’t give the “girlfriend experience” too soon, and the misconception of guys just being dumb/aloof in dating. Before Niko joins us, we spill some Love is Blind tea, Rayna has a hair extension update, and Ashley finally shares the long-awaited prom dress story. Enjoy! We are breaking down bad date behavior and bright red flags – everything from misogynistic remarks to showing up drunk to not asking you a single question – and then sharing our tactic for how to leave if the date is going south. Plus, we’re sharing 3 shocking/hilarious date stories from our listeners. Before we get into the topic, we’re talking about Love is Blind, Ashley moving, Rayna’s tips for taking a bath with someone, and the best mood lighting for sex. Enjoy! We are overjoyed to welcome back Dr. Ramani Durvasula to talk about healing from narcissists in your life – whether it be a parent, friend, or romantic partner. She briefs us on what narcissists actually are and what motivates them, then we dive into the healing process, everything from recognizing to acceptance to how to communicate with them and finally, moving past the trauma and self-actualization. We also play a game with her – Narcissist or Not –  crowd-sourced from our listeners. Before Dr. Ramani joins us, we’re talking about the something men love to mansplain (that dries us right up), and the “dressing down theory” of having better luck on the dating scene when you’re in casual, comfy clothes. Enjoy! Check out Dr. Ramani on YouTube at youtube.com/doctorramani, pre-order her new book It's Not You, find her on instagram @doctorramani, and visit her website. It’s our 6-year anniversary episode (!!!) and another friendship topic our listeners asked for – when friends are in different life stages. We discuss how/why/when this happens and how to handle it, the self-talk, how friendships change (and sometimes for the better), and making new friends and/or strengthening other relationships. We also discuss the touchy subject of feeling like you’ve outgrown a friend, plus we share how our friendship has changed since a boyfriend entered the mix. Before we get into our topic, we talk about our studio flooding and why it’s been so emotional, then catch up on Miami (Rayna’s balcony fiasco and bathroom door-gate), Ashley puking at Drake and solving shower sex, and the cocktail we’re bringing back. Enjoy! Follow us on Instagram @girlsgottaeatpodcast, Ashley @ashhess, and Rayna @rayna.greenberg. Visit our website for tour dates, merchandise, and more. Shop Vibes Only. We are so excited to welcome back aura reader extraordinaire Mystic Michaela! She explains aura colors and how to find yours, reads our auras and analyzes how and why they’ve changed since our last reading in 2020, and we talk about how understanding your aura can help you in all your relationships. Then she breaks down each color and their strengths and weaknesses in dating, while also providing tips and tools to navigate your love life with your aura color in mind. Plus, she reads the auras of Ashley’s boyfriend and Rayna’s upcoming dates. Before Mystic Michaela joins us, we’re deep diving (ie. ranting) on fashion trends from quiet luxury to mob wife, reminiscing on the worst/weirdest trends from the early 2000s, and talking about finding your own personal style. Is where you live helping or hurting your likeliness to find love? We are breaking down the US (and beyond) for dating, using a recent report that ranked 182 cities, our own experiences, and those of our listeners. Get ready because we’re unpacking the truth about Denver, the top Peter Pan cities, best cities to be single in, best cities for settling down, NYC vs. LA, why Austin fucks, the overwhelming response about Chicago, why Boston needs to “studied by scientists,” and so much more. We also discuss the idea of moving for a better dating scene and things to consider. Before we dive into our topic, we’re catching up on a guy who resurfaced in Rayna’s DMs, and Ashley uncovering peoples’ secret Internet lives. Enjoy! We are so excited to have the queen of millennial musings herself, Kate Kennedy, back on the show. We discuss her new book One in a Millennial, the motivation for sharing the nostalgia and real stories behind this generation of woman, the paradox we've faced in our career paths, body image in the 90s/early aughts and its effects on us today, and how religion/purity culture can shape your sexuality to the point of confusion at best and trauma at worst. We reminisce on the mall glory days, our favorite Bath & Body Works scents, why Ashley was a fashion icon in high school, and where Rayna got her prom dresses. Kate also opens up about her indecisiveness to have children (spoiler alert: she had one), and the advice NOT to give someone struggling with this decision.  Before Kate joins us, we are revealing how long we stayed on the family plan, ranting about the pet peeve all guys do around the house, and having an important discussion about plane safety and flight attendant humor. AND we debut the Vibes Only cock ring and spill the tea on its name. Enjoy! Find Kate on instagram @katekennedy, check out her podcast Be There in Five, and get her new book One in a Millennial. If you’re looking for a partner…should you make a list of what you want? We are deep diving on this question and discussing how to approach the list, what to include, and how to divide and prioritize things. We’re also sharing our own lists, misconceptions about this exercise, and top qualities our listeners have on their love lists. Before we get into our topic, we’re doing a little pop culture dive (Is Ben Affleck ok? Is Barry Keoghan hot?), talking about the best lighting for the hottest sex, Ashley’s shares her foreplay pet peeve, and Rayna’s neighbor gives us a show (we recommend watching this one on YouTube). We are so excited to be joined by our good friend and hilarious comedian Brittany Schmitt for a conversation that flows from funny to serious to slutty in the best way. Brittany shares her story of getting sober – why she relied on alcohol, when she felt like she lost herself, how she stopped drinking for good, getting sober when your spouse isn’t, friendships changing, and more. She also opens up about her divorce, making new friends after a relationship ends, and her dating life now. And we round it out with a wild conversation about an athlete she’s been DMing with, the ridiculous questions he asked her, and our feelings on sharing your body count. Before Brittany joins us, we’re recapping the NYE party and the game everyone loved, sharing a piece of strong and simple dating advice Rayna received, and analyzing boyfriends as dog breeds. Plus, we have fresh book and movie recs. Enjoy! Follow Brittany on Instagram @brittanyschmitt, check out her new podcast This Is The Worst, and get tickets to see her at brittanyschmitt.com. We are kicking off the year with a very enlightening conversation with Elise Loehnen, author of the New York Times bestseller On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to Be Good. We discuss these seven “sins” and the (wrong) notion we’ve been fed that a “good woman” is not supposed to indulge them, and why it’s so much easier to damage a woman's reputation than a man’s.  We chat about embracing pride, using your envy to figure out what you want in life, owning your lustfulness, and why anger is a positive emotion. We also talk about the nonstop policing and judging of women’s bodies, why we punish ourselves for being “gluttonous,”  and how we can learn to accept our bodies. There is so much ground covered, but above all –  the importance of women supporting each other in the name of world domination. Before Elise joins us, we’re doing a quick Christmas/appetizer contest recap, sharing our goals for 2024, as well as some  from our audience, and announcing the official slogan for the year. Enjoy! In true GGE tradition, we are recapping the year in our personal lives, pop culture, breakups, and the snackhead community! This episode is a game changer when it comes to understanding yourself in relationships thanks to long-awaited guest Dr. Nicole LePera, holistic psychologist and bestselling author. Nicole covers so much ground, including why we seek out relationships that feel familiar but aren’t healthy for us (and how to stop), why fear of rejection can be debilitating, and the difference between relationships that are empowered and disempowered. We dissect trauma bonding (both the power and danger of it), and also discuss how couples misinterpret each other’s behaviors (touching on love languages, but going even deeper) and how you can better understand each other instead of expecting them to change. Nicole also tells us about her throuple and the dynamics of it. Before she joins us, we catch up on Ashley’s recent altercation on a plane, Rayna’s observations about sisters, and a star-studded event we attended. We are SO excited (or rather, aroused) to do this episode about faking orgasms! We brought in sex therapist and bestselling author Vanessa Marin to chat about how many women are faking orgasms, why we do it, how to stop doing it, and how to talk to your partner if you’ve been faking for a while (or forever!). We also break down how to end the sexual experience when you don’t know how, reframing “good sex” even when there isn’t a climax, and how to mix up the order you do things in the bedroom so everyone gets off. And we even touch on men having difficulty reaching orgasm. Before Vanessa joins us, we’re catching up on Ashley meeting her boyfriend’s parents, Rayna’s awkward vibrator moment with her family, and we have a very special (official) debut from TESSA! We’re also introducing new Vibes Only products – handcuffs anyone? Enjoy! Follow Vanessa on Instagram at @vanessaandxander, get her book Sex Talks: The Five Conversations That Will Transform Your Love Life, listen to her podcast Pillow Talks, and visit vmtherapy.com for more. Should you tell your friends the size of your partner’s d*ck? What about their political beliefs? We’re discussing all the things you share about your partner with friends and family, from sexual details to fights to politics to cheating. We break down the differences in what you should share/shouldn’t share, the impact oversharing can have, the types of friends you can tell certain things to, and more. Before we get into the topic, we’re joined by a special guest (Rayna’s hot neighbor!) and he tells us some of his turnoffs and clears up a beef with Ashley.  Enjoy!  Follow us on Instagram @girlsgottaeatpodcast, Ashley @ashhess, and Rayna @rayna.greenberg. Our good friend Alyssa Amoroso (aka Publyssity) joins us this week to spill the tea on her relationship, the trip that changed her dating trajectory, and so much more. The main theme of the episode is how shifting your energy can lead to big changes in your life, and we discuss her current relationship from how they met (she offers some insightful dating app advice) to the recent “DTR” to how people treat her now that she’s coupled up (and the mixed feelings she has on it). We also chat about her move to LA, why she got rid of her therapist (and the positive impact it had), and making the decision to stop letting insecurities hold you back. Before Alyssa joins us, we’re sharing some Thanksgiving Eve hookup stories; Ashley has a big life/body update, and we’re now taking dating applications for Rayna. Enjoy! Follow Alyssa on Instagram at @publyssity, check out her podcast Tea with Publyssity, and buy her tea at teawithpublyssity.com.  Follow us @girlsgottaeatpodcast, Ashley @ashhess, and Rayna @rayna.greenberg. We’re so happy to welcome back marriage and family therapist Vienna Pharaon to talk about healing work and the five original wounds. She shares her own personal story of her parents’ (nine year long) divorce and how she didn’t think it affected her until later in life when she was ready to process and work through it. Then she walks us through how to pinpoint and understand your original wounds and how they are affecting you today, and gives steps for how to heal and stop holding yourself back from healthy relationships. We also discuss how red flags can be a positive thing, the unhealthy side of choosing partners who put you on a pedestal, and why breakups don’t equal failure. Before Vienna joins us, we have a debut cameo from Sparkle Eyes. Enjoy! Follow Vienna on Instagram @mindfulmft, check out her podcast This Keeps Happening, and get her book The Origins of You. With all the dating advice/rules/list/etc taking over our online landscape, we couldn’t help but wonder…have we gone too far? We’re so excited to cover the concept of overcorrecting when it comes to dating, inspired by the viral list “Places Women Refuse to Go On a First Date” (we have a lot to say!) and from all the content we see and consume every day. We discuss how some of the information out there could actually be harming your dating life and possibility of finding love, but how you can filter it and make it work for you. Before we get into the topic, we talk about guys on bikes (ick or not?), Rayna's comical texting with her mom about Thanksgiving, something that killed the mood for Ashley like never before, the show Naked Attraction, AND our new Vibes Only products (including a vibrator that will give you the best orgasm of your life). When Nudes Go Wrong

2023-10-3058:561

If you’ve ever experienced the nightmare of sending a nude to the wrong person (or just have the fear inside of you), you’re not alone. We’re chatting all about nudes gone wrong – sending to the wrong person (family included), uploading to social media, accidental airdrops, and more. We’re also giving tips on how to avoid these incidents, and on the other (aka toxic) side, purposely using the “oops wrong person” as a power play in a situationship. Before we go full send on nudes, we’re talking about our multiple Halloween costumes and unpacking a shocking birthday cake incident. Enjoy! Barking up the wrong tree comes from hunting and can work in either context. When a dog signals with barking that they have a prey animal like a racoon trapped up in a specific tree, they can be wrong in two ways: either there isn't anything up there (wrong audience) or there's actually a big ass bear about to come down (threat).
