Buka, by I Wayan Sadra

Two version of a piece by the experimental Indonnesian composer I Wayan Sadra, who passed away earlier this year. "Buko Semarangan" was recently recorded, while "Buka," part of a dance accompaniment, was composed and recorded in 1989, and included on "New Music Indonesia Vol.3" a series on Lyrichord Discs.

Gending Erhu (gongcast 02)

Gendhing Erhu, by Jarrad Powell, combines the carefully crafted tuning of Seattle's Gamelan Pacifica with a Chinese erhu played by virtuoso Warren Chang. This is one of 6 tracks on a recent re-issue of Pacifica's first CD, Trance Gong. The CD is availalbe from the American Gamelan Institute at www.gamelan.org, and also from CDbaby.com.
