I would choose a better word than allowed. allowed is not the word that defines it. but you scaffolded and helped them develop and grow and made them believe in what they are doing and in themselves. your children would not be that way unless you instilled that and encouraged their growth. .... they wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for you and your wife. thank you for all of them . they are great people and I listen to all there podcasts

I work in early childhood education, and as long as children feel safe secure and supported you can allow them to grow. you and alison (sorry for spelling that wrong) are a reflection of that. your not perfect parents, there is no such thing but your humility and allowance of your children's interests and growth is. your children are amazing but they are only as amazing as you have allowed them to be. you shaped there beliefs and values and who they are. how great that must feel! your allowance

wow, thank you, dave. I have followed coopers podcast for a while! I am so glad you came on the podcast. They are not privileged but lucky to have such amazing parents. Not everyone is. To give your children all the oppurtunities, autonomy, and trust, shows in how they developed and grew. Children thrive off of these things and there are so many who do not ever feel this.
