Learn more about Coach Caprice at her website www.excusefreefitness.com   NEW! Book link below... Purchase Carpice's new book Prayers Up, Weight Down! at https://www.amazon.com/Prayers-Weight-Caprice-OBryant-Gutierrez/dp/0692137254   About Caprice - A MUST READ! In 2007, Caprice survived a serious car accident, which left her with a traumatic brain injury. She was unable to walk and had impaired cognitive abilities—to the point where she had difficulty following simple instructions. Thanks to the help of an extensive 5-month regimen of physical, speech and occupational therapy, Caprice was able to miraculously recover and attend high school. Not only did she reunite with her classmates, but Caprice joined her high school track team and quickly rose to stardom. She won every race and was named conference champion at each event. Sure, she had to wear a knee brace, but that didn’t stop her from doing what she loved!   After getting back on her feet and returning to a ‘normal’ life, Caprice was unfortunately in another car accident, just three years later. This time, she was left with devastating injuries which would affect her for the rest of her life—grand mal seizures. In fact, in 2012 she suffered a seizure so severe that she was left with retrograde amnesia, leaving her with no memory of the first nineteen years of her life. Caprice woke up in a hospital, not knowing her name or the family that surrounded her. She was admitted into every major research and top-notch hospital in the country (Mayo Clinic, Christ, Loyola, Northwestern, UIC, etc.) and was eventually diagnosed with epilepsy.   While all of this could have brought anyone down, without the drive to move forward, Caprice was instead fueled by her battle and decided to live by the mantra ‘stomp out every excuse’. In her eyes, there was no excuse to not stay healthy and fit, which always made her feel better, empowering her to focus her energy on what she could do, instead of being tied down by her circumstances. It made her feel unbreakable. Caprice became certified and opened the popular Excuse Free Fitness! With her gym, Caprice strives to provide her clients with a sense of hope and inspiration to never give up, no matter life’s circumstances.

We are so grateful to Vanessa Echols for joining us today as we kick off October Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Our series this month will feature stories of survivors and supporters. Please tell everyone you know who has been impacted by Cancer to tune in! There is a message of hope in each testimony.   From www.compassionatehandsandhearts.org Vanessa is a Breast cancer survivor and founder of Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach.  When Vanessa was diagnosed with Stage Two breast cancer in 2004, it was in that moment that she knew God had a purpose in allowing cancer to be a part of her life’s journey. She soon realized the importance of awareness and education, and shared her story with WFTV Channel 9 viewers throughout Central Florida who’d been watching her anchor the news over the years.    With countless doctors visits, medical tests, chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries, the long journey was both emotionally and physically draining for Vanessa, her family and friends. It was her faith and support from her loved ones that brought her through the fight. And it was conquering that fight that inspired her to help others walking the same path.    Vanessa’s story of bravery, strength and passion opened doors to spread the message at community events and created opportunities to get involved with local efforts to fight cancer, inspiring people across Central Florida. However, Vanessa felt her calling was for something much greater… and that was Compassionate Hands and Hearts.    Together with inspiring cancer survivors, compassionate supporters and giving individuals, Vanessa fights everyday to have a positive impact in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families. Book available at amazon.com Also visit RealizingDestiny.com My name is Destiny Thomas. I’m an Author, Motivational Speaker and Prayer and Discernment Coach. I use my influence as a brand ambassador to foster better health and wellness in every aspect of life. When desperation consumes a person, they can begin to question their faith. They can lose sight of long term goals like attaining an education or acquiring financial security. The day I was advised that I had conditions known as Endometriosis and P.C.O.S. and would never experience the gift of birthing a child I experienced all of those things. I neglected finishing my education, resented aspects of my faith, and lost all concentration for maintaining financial independence. For years, I filled the void of being a mother with uncontrolled credit card spending, fatty foods, and senseless vacations. God turned everything around for me on February 8, 2015 with the birth of my son. It was then, that I realized I could never cope with exposing my child to financial tragedies. I knew that if I ever wanted to be debt free or travel the world like I dreamed, I would have to actively seek change. I began the journey of "REALIZING DESTINY" On March 2016, when I discovered It Works, an all-natural health and wellness company. After enrolling I lost over 20 pounds, learned the importance of financial freedom, got closer to God and found my purpose. So on October 21, 2017, when God instructed me to leave my corporate job after 10 years of employment without a plan A or B I did it. I am truly grateful for this journey of coming to the Realization of who I am not only as a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and author but also as A Child of God living on Purpose.

From Ruby's Website  http://www.rubycarterpikes.com/fitness-philosophy/ Check out Miss Ruby's page for more info and services.   Ruby Carter-Pikes; a 70 year old grandmother is also a fitness model. But it’s not even about the way she looks, it’s about the respect that she has for her body and the healthy attitude that she has developed over the course of her life. Pikes wasn’t raised or trained by her parents into living a healthy lifestyle. Being born in Mississippi, the Deep South, she faced the same disadvantages of nutritional information that many of us face. “My family grew everything, we had livestock and fruits and vegetables but the problem was that they didn’t know how to prepare the foods. Salt, sugar and flour were the pillars to our diet.” Because of their eating habits, and being uneducated on the correct way to prepare foods, chronic disease ran rampant in her family. Pikes’ mother struggled with diabetes, her grandmother died at the age of 57 after being diagnosed with heart problems and her sister’s leg was amputated as a result diabetes; in 2012 her sister died from diabetes. Pikes herself was diagnosed with a heart condition but instead of accepting defeat, she decided to make changes to her lifestyle habits through nutrition and exercise. At the age of 51 Pikes, a personal trainer, began participating in body building competitions. “I was talked into doing it and ended up coming in second place.” Later she began fitness modeling. Instead of having a specific workout routine, Pikes keeps it fresh by working out with her clients and taking kick boxing classes. “I get up in the morning and either go for a five to seven mile run or I train with my clients.” Ruby has made it her life goal to inspire others to live healthy, in fact that’s exactly what keeps her going. “I plan to keep competing until I can’t anymore. It’s not about winning or being seen, it’s about inspiring others to live better.” When she heard that Enliven was part of a faith based magazine Pikes offered this advice, “The Bible says, “thou shall not kill.” If you are eating the stuff you know you aren’t supposed to be eating and not being active, ultimately you are killing yourself. If you want to live get your butt up and start moving!”
Shelly Dahm-Mattes  "When you are diagnosed with cancer, your entire life changes. That's what happened to me fifteen years ago. It's not something you can ever prepare for, but it's something that I knew could be beaten if I had the will to fight. My doctor told me that beyond surgery and treatment, a positive attitude was crucial to my recovery. One thing that I noticed immediately was that I couldn't force myself to have a good attitude. I had many rough moments during this period of my life. Whenever I worked out, however, my outlook would noticebly improve. I always knew exercise and fitness were keys to a healthy lifestyle, but I didn't fully realize to what degree. If you research common conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc., the number one recommendation for improving your health is to exercise. Fitness is no longer something I try to make time for, it's a priority. My goal is to live long, healthy life and to set a positive example for my two daughetrs" Shelly is part owner of Medical Investment Group, a wife, mother and amazing woman of God!
