Romans 5 begins to move us toward the climax of Paul’s arguments. He wonderfully displays Christ as our Savior and begins to detail for us the implications of His incredible sacrifice.
Romans 4 is definitely written for a Jewish audience who believed they could earn their way into God’s graces. We no longer think that, but there is something else wonderful in this chapter worth thinking about.

But as we always ask when we encounter these old, famous stories – what can we learn from them and apply today? This Sunday, we will talk about Daniel’s example of faith and consistency in his commitment to and pursuit of the very heart of God.
The story of the fiery furnace is one of the most famous in the Old Testament and one we love to tell. Beyond that, it is one of the most incredible displays of faith we see in scripture and sets an incredible example for us.
Daniel, conscripted to serve in the court of Babylon, was given a choice about whose standards he wanted to live up to in his life. He chose God’s, and we can too.
God loves us with a unique and unending love, but why do we struggle so mightily to accept this?
Ephesians tells us that God is rich in mercy. But maybe we don’t fully appreciate the depth to which this should stir our souls.
