Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the big show down between idols in our lives vs God: THE makers of heaven and earth! Who will win? Who will bring home the title as the ultimate power and authority? You'll have to see what each contender has to offer in Psalm 115!
Ever watched a scene in a movie where the hero had their own music when they came on the screen and it created tension with everyone else in the area? Yeah, that's pretty much Psalm 114. Actually that's pretty much God! Check out what we are throwing in the atmosphere in today's stream!
What if, to demonstrate your awesomeness as a king you decided to take the lowest people in your kingdom and raised their status instantaneously? Pretty radical idea, but what if that's the kind of kingdom we are a part of? Join in on Psalm 113 and see what we mean!
Looking at the flip side of Psalm 111 and realizing that we look to God to figure out what godly living looks like! So what does that look like? Lets pick the good fruits of godliness and how it impacts those around us.
What do Bilbo and Psalm 111 have in common (come on Tolkien fans, this is your moment)? We are working through how awesome God is, to be thankful for Him, and how that gives us hope/wisdom in the future.
When David has a vision of The Lord of his Lord... what does that mean and how does that impact our lives today? We'll be chewing through this prophetic vision and chat about Melchizadeck.
Ever had someone throw shade on you, but like really go too far with it? David had someone that had a tonne of beef with him, but he responded differently than what we might do. He turned to God, but what does that look like in that situation? Join and see what that is like in Psalm 109!
How can you be confident in crisis? How can you hold strong in the midst of adversity? We are looking at how David did just that in Psalm 109!
Poetic literature is a such a fun way of playing around with key concepts! Like how do you demonstrate faithfulness in a poem? Maybe through a pattern, or connecting to a compass to highlight being faithful in any situation? You'll have to see what we came up with in working through Psalm 107!
In Psalm 105 (listen to that first before this one) we saw the faithfulness of God in his provision and protection of the Israelite nation from the start. Now in Psalm 106 we work through how God was faithful to the Israelites even when they were not faithful to Him. It's time to get real and process God's faithfulness and patience!
Sometimes we need a review of things from the past. It may seem tedious, but that's where we can make some connections and see what is the pattern that emerges. As they say "History repeats itself" and with a faithful God; it's cool to see where He shows up: time and time again!
You're going to feel a bit like Marty McFly as we go back to the beginning of it all and reflect on God creating the world; GREAT SCOTT!!!!!! But why are we going back? What did we miss on the original read through Genesis 1? What are we supposed to be taking away from it so that we can go back to the future?
We look at Psalm 103 and how God is the heavenly father who sees us and cares for us. He has a plan and He responds to us, not a distant being.
We hit on all the topics today! Lamenting, restoration, cosmology, eschatology, Jesus, hope! You name it, we pretty well talked about it with the awesome Coach and Hoff on the couch, nerding out together over Psalm 102!
In our short hand version of Nerds in the Word, we focus in on 1 Chronicles 16:11 and why it is good to be nostalgic for the right things... like God!
Hello and welcome to Integrity 101 where we are talking about what a person with integrity looks like by going through Psalm 101 (funny how that works out). Be sure to have your note pads ready and highlighters keen to learn through this one!
Thanksgiving in June? What's going on here? Let's be honest though, you can never be too thankful and we are going to process why it is important to be thankful while reading Psalm 100!
When God is so awesome and worthy of praise, what else is there than to simply praise Him? Join me as we look at the King with all the RIZZ as some peeps might say in Psalm 99!
You thought you were the only part of creation that can praise... THINK AGAIN! Check out how Psalm 98 dives into this new realization and why the praise is happening. Heads up, there is a surprise ending!
Have you ever considered what happens when God shows up? We are getting a flash back to Sinai and a reminder that God has it all under control!
