Jesus and the Brokenhearted | Sunday Message

Are you in a seemingly never-ending storm right now? God can break through the clouds. And that happens to be the story before us right now... Notes: Focus verse: Mark 5 A poor, helpless, hopeless woman found what she needed from Jesus. A man of status and prestige, a respected synagogue leaderfound what he needed from Jesus. Read Mark 5:21–29 The young girl had experienced 12 years of relative happiness. The sick woman had experienced 12 years of pain, rejection, and tears. Jairus realized his daughter was dying and he was in a race against time. Jairus believed Jesus could heal and save his daughter’s life with a touch.Mark 5:23 James 1:2–3 Tests are an opportunity to grow spiritually, to learn to trust God.Tests are not punitive but purposeful. Many people struggle and grow impatient with the Lord. Jesus does not ask us for our understanding of His ways or timing. He asks for our trust. The woman’s condition rendered her to be declared ceremonially unclean. She was penniless as she had spent everything on doctors.Mark 5:26 She desired a healing touch from Jesus and received it.She took hold of what God had for her. Read Mark 5:30–34 Read Mark 5:35–36 It was devastating for Jairus to hear, “…your daughter is dead.” Jairus had to choose which voice to listen to. When a loved one dies unexpectedly, we often blame ourselves. Life and death are in the hands of God not us. Jairus had humbled himself in coming to Jesus. Jesus was always ready and willing to receive and bless those that came to Him. The attitude of the individual determined Jesus’s response.Psalm 18:25–27 Unbelief laughs at God’s word, but faith believes and receives the miracle. Read Mark 5:41–43 To the woman who was healed Jesus said, “Daughter, be of good courage.” We see a failure; God sees a success. We see the past; God sees the future. We see a woman who is an outcast, Jesus sees a daughter. Jesus is ready to enter into your life and to change you. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. How to Overcome Your Giants | Trusting God with Our Biggest Problems

God has never encountered a problem or a crisis too big for Him to handle. He’s never said, “Uh-oh.” So when we encounter something we can’t handle, we need to look to our God who can handle anything. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, as Pastor Greg Laurie returns to our studies of the life of David, we’ll see what happened when David faced a giant-sized problem. It’s a familiar story, but sometimes we miss the practical application. That’s Pastor Greg’s focus as we begin today’s study. The Man After God's Heart | Imperfect People, Remarkable Purpose

Some tend to think that God only uses perfect people . . . people with no blindspots, no failings, no shortcomings. But the more we study the Bible, the more we see how God used imperfect people to do remarkable things for His Kingdom. How can we be the kind of person God is looking for? Pastor Greg Laurie answers that today here on A NEW BEGINNING as we examine the life of a great leader of Israel who God chose personally, over and above other candidates who appeared more impressive. Jesus and the Outcast | Sunday Message

As a tax collector, Matthew was one of society's most looked down upon. But Jesus still called him to be His follower. Notes:Focus verse: Luke 5:27–32 #1 Jesus sees Matthew.Luke 5:27 Theaomai means to have an intent look at something, to take something in with one’s eyes, with implication that one is especially impressed, see, look at, behold. #2 Jesus sees you.2 Chronicles 16:9 The acceptance and inclusion of Matthew is a picture of the redeeming power of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus knows your story and He knows your potential.  #3 Jesus calls us to see others.Luke 5:29–32 Jesus meets you where you are. 82% of non-believers would go to church if they were invited by a friend or family member. The miracle is that God called that person to Himself, and you were able to be an instrument in His hand. Jesus sees you. Jesus says, “Follow Me, and be My disciple.” --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. Angels and Demons | Exposing the Scams of Satan

Ever been the target of a scam? Many of us have, some without even realizing it. None of the scammers admit they’re trying to rip you off. They play upon your fear . . . or your kindness. If you’re of a certain age, you’re old enough to remember mimeograph copies. Many schools used them. They pre-dated photocopies. Very poor reproductions of the original.
