In this podcast episode, my guest and I explore the future of healthcare and why it must be people-driven. My guest suggests that our current healthcare system is not set up to support people, but rather to recruit patients. This is due to the lack of connection between consumerism and healthcare, which leads to a system that doesn't prioritize preventing or reducing the risk of chronic diseases. My special guest is author and healthcare citizen scientist, Emily Gold Mears, who suggests that to make a change, it's up to individuals to learn how to advocate for their own healthcare choices...and this starts with taking simple and incremental steps towards optimizing health. Emily shares her hard work to provide access to useful research and actionable behavior change strategies so you can take control of your health and work towards a healthier future.

So, join us as we dive into the world of productive tension and discover how it can help you unlock your true potential! Join me, along with my guest T. This was a terrific and must watch/listen conversation.
Do you believe that you have what it takes to be successful, but your fear of failure holds you back?
It took me a long time to learn how to be successful; and I didn’t learn from the book of success. Rather, I learned from lessons that came out of the books of fear and failure. I went from feeling like I wasn’t good enough and shying away from going after what I wanted in life, to becoming a dragon slayer. I learned how to fight fear and failure.
You see, growing up I dreamed of travelling the world as an entertainer. But because I never thought I was good enough, I spent most of my time just dreaming about it, admiring others' success, and never really taking a bold step. I kept thinking…“when I do “x” (i.e., get better, have more money, find the perfect time), I’ll go for it.” But, as time passed with little to no action, I became discouraged. I felt sad and deflated.
One day, however, I saw something. It was like someone threw gas on my struggling flame inside. My life would never be the same. The combustion was so powerful that I set out on a mission to do whatever it takes to succeed. But here’s the thing…my success didn’t come easy. There were so many challenges. That spark propelled me and gave me the determination, but it was learning to fight through my failures that brought me success.
I went from believing I was a loser to performing on stages all around the world and being inducted into the Hall of Fame of a little known, but prestigious performance group! But here’s the thing…I wasn’t the best, I wasn’t a great talent, my struggles were many and hard.
So why was I successful? I learned some crucial lessons about becoming successful and for me it came down to understanding how to overcome failure. From this new mindset, I started to see more wins and ultimately more success and fulfilment.
But what about you? What is the success, the goal, the life you want, but are too afraid to go after it? And how will you deal with failure along the way? How can you leverage your fear of failure to be an advantage? That’s what this episode is all about. You will learn to embrace the “suck”, be resilient, and about the 5 crucial rules to success, by way of failure.
In this episode you will learn:
- The 5 rules of failure
- How to embrace the “suck” and let hard times make you stronger.
- How to be resilient
- How to use failure to catapult you forward to success.

Ari Gunzburg is an award-winning speaker and personal growth coach who presents his popular keynote, Everyday Greatness, based on his award-winning book, “The Little Book Of Greatness.” This book is a parable that teaches The 5 Keys To Greatness (Ari’s framework for Everyday Greatness) in a simple and memorable way. Ari had an incredible and rather unique, but traumatic, experience as a child that was then followed by extreme volatility as a teenager. But at some point, he chose to break those chains--the trauma--that often hold people back in life—and use them as guides and lessons for his own life. Now he uses these experiences, his story, the lessons as, not only motivators to propel him forward, but as life lessons to motivate other people to learn, change, grow and be triumphant in life.
