We are thrilled to finally introduce Queer Joy, a new podcast series by Homoground featuring queer-identified artists sharing what queer joy means to them with their words and music! Queer Joy was created as a response to the lack of positive representation of the queer experience in popular media. Over the summer, Homoground asked artists to share their experiences with queer joy by using their own words and their own music. We received beautiful, vulnerable, and thoughtful pieces from musicians all over the world. Homoground is incredibly grateful to everyone who submitted. Your voices brought Queer Joy to life!We danced, we cried, and we’re honored to release Part One: Be Yourself.Listen to anthems celebrating the process of being comfortable with who you are from Papa Molly, JayceJanae, Boy Bowser, and Kamerin. Our wonderful Patreon supporters will have access to extra tracks submitted by the artists along with some extended interviews. For this series we’ve partnered with Spaces, and have created our own Space for you to share whatever brings you Queer Joy with others.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/homoground-queer-music-radio-lgbtq/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Homoground stands in solidarity to condemn the tragic murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and so many others at the hands of police. This is a continuation of the systemic racism pervasive in our country since its inception. We are committed to standing against racism in all its forms. We believe that to be silent is to be complicit. We believe that Black lives matter. We believe that Black lives are more important than property. We believe that we have a responsibility to use our platforms to speak out against this injustice whenever and wherever we are witness to it.In creating digital media we have amassed a community of listeners who tune in episode after episode and we will use our voice to speak against anti-blackness and police brutality, and we encourage our listeners to be educated, engaged, and to take action. #podcastersforjusticeSome websites we’ve been following for specific actions and to make donations are the Movement for Black Lives and Black Lives Matter. Some podcasts by POC creators we've been listening to are: How to Survive the End of the World, The Colored Girl Beautiful, Start Within, The Gayly Prophet, and Dreams Not Memes.
