Description
Halloweenies® is a weekly horror franchise podcast. Each season, co-hosts Justin Gerber, Dan Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, Rachel Reeves, and Michael Roffman slice and dice through an iconic series -- one movie at a time. In the past, they've covered Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Scream, The Evil Dead, Chucky, and Alien. This year? The Universal Monsters! Produced by Michael Roffman. Edited by Mae Shults. Music by The Most/Charlie Laurence and Billy Yost/The Kickback.

Fun facts: In 2025, aka this year, Stuart Gordon’s RE-ANIMATOR turns 40 years old, while Brian Yuzna’s 1990 sequel BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR turns 35 years old. They've met Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Creature, the Mummy, even Abbot & Costello. But only now are the Halloweenies finally braving the Bavarian Alps to meet The Monster within James Whale's iconic 1931 Universal Horror classic Frankenstein.
As Powerman 5000 wisely sang: This is what it's like when world's collide. Today, we're trying out something new. We're combining the news and headlines of Steve Christy's Bulletin Board with Now Showing to cover the gamut of the latest and greatest in Horror media. For the inaugural installment, we're talking the first official Jason Voorhees appearance since 2009 (see: Sweet Revenge), FX's Alien: Earth, the new Hellraiser game, Gremlins 3, and more. Then, we'll discuss two new films (Together, Weapons) and two oldies (Copycat, Angel Heart). Let us know what you think in the comments!
The Halloweenies continue their Universal Monsters coverage in August with 1931's Frankenstein. In anticipation, the gang stitches together their favorite monster movies that ran where Frankenstein's Monster stomped.

Requested by oilung, the gang hops aboard the Pork Chop Express to discuss all things Jack Burton, the Lords of Death, the legacy of James Hong, crushing on Kim Cattrall, and the score that keeps on giving. Note: This episode was recorded in January 2024 and is being unlocked because we're, well, we just thought it'd be nice to hear.
It's a cruel summer. The heat is on, our swimsuits are on, and our swim game is on. To celebrate these hot, humid days, the Halloweenies are hitting the water to continue their Universal Monsters coverage with Jack Arnold's The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
