Description

For Melissa Moore, 1995 was a nightmare. That’s the year the teenager learned her father, Keith Hunter Jesperson, was a serial killer. It’s also the year Melissa Moore’s doubt spiral began: When you look like your father, and you share his intelligence and charisma, how do you know you’re not a psychopath, too? Happy Face is the story of Keith Hunter Jesperson, his brutal crimes, and the cat and mouse game he played with detectives and the media. But it’s also the story of the horrific legacy he gifted his children. Join Melissa Moore as she investigates her father’s crimes, reckons with the past, and wades through her darkest fears as she hunts for a better future.

Interesting story but the music was terrible and a distraction. I didn't love the style of the whole thing in general. I'm glad I listened to get to the things said in the last episode but am also really glad it was only a handful of episodes overall.

No one ever considers the impact on the family of the killer. Instead, they are shunned and blamed. I imagine it is a heavy weight on their shoulders for the rest of their lives. They are also victims.

This was incredibly moving and powerful. It is a testament to facing fear and ploughing through it. Thank you for your bravery and allowing the public in on a very difficult meeting.

I appreciate every true crime form of Entertainment... but ppl like you... lol... you're like Candace Delong and John Walsh... you fancy yourselves as some kind of god among true crime fans... narcissistic as all get out... you all have this grandiose idealism like you're some sort of archangel and we are your loyal subjects... get real. take a step back and ask yourself, do you think anyone would give 2 shits if you weren't the child or family member of a victim or criminal?.... nope.

Love the story and think this woman is incredibly brave for telling it and confronting it like this but i cannot understand why this 30min pod has THREE commercial breaks per episode! It's hard to stay immersed in what's being said when i have to hear about home security and zip recruiter every 10 mins 😒

Between the ads and the background music, it's really hard to get into a 20 min long episode. This podcast is meh at best.

Good podcast. I looked up the daughter and saw that she took her kid to meet him in prison years ago. I'm hoping she brings this up and explains why she would do that. Ugh I can't stand judging people but that's a hard one to understand, in my opinion. I can completely understand her going but bringing your child 😕.

interesting but really could do without the weird singing. Songs with lyrics in a podcast so focused on information is just distracting. Replace it with an instrumental.
