Reverse
After years of build up... We finally sit down in person with our good friend & Touché Amoré vocalist JEREMY BOLM in-person at The Pit Recording Studio.
We talk all about Jeremy's upbringing in Burbank, CA, and how he went from Nirvana and Michael Jackson to Sepultura and Earth Crisis... From facing adversity growing up due to his unique speaking voice & his early bands, to finding the courage to sing for Touché Amoré, breaking down their entire discography, including their now 10 year old landmark "Stage Four", grieving to the masses via the albums lyrics, working with Ross Robinson, and much more.
This is one of our most requested and anticipated guests of all time, by you and by us, and it lead to a conversation where I learned a lot about someone I've known for over 20 years.
Whether you like Touché, HardLore, or anything in between, there's something for everyone in this episode. See you at the Stage Four anniversary gig.

We're joined by Bad Religion co-founder and Epitaph Records founder Brett Gurewitz at Brain Dead Studios in Hollywood, CA.
We discuss growing up in the West San Fernando Valley, discovering the Ramones in the late 70s, meeting Greg Graffin and Jay Bentley at El Camino Real High School and starting Bad Religion in the quad, founding Epitaph to put out the Bad Religion 7", the entire BR discography, leaving the band right before the overnight success of Offspring's Smash, rejoining for Process of Belief, his thoughts on streaming as it dominates the music landscape today, and his favorite hardcore records ever.
A genuine honor with a genuine legend and one of the best punk songwriters to ever live.
Check out Colin's hand picked Bad Religion playlist of hits and deep cuts and enjoy: Spotify & Apple Music.

Well, the day has finally arrived... After nearly four years of consistently praising Merauder's debut album, Master Killer (one of our favorite records ever) we're finally joined in person for a full length episode by vocalist Jorge Rosado. We discuss his early life in Brooklyn, the Sunset Skins, meeting the late great Javier "Sob" Carpio, being asked to eventually join Merauder (& recording Master Killer just a few months later), the complicated timeline of Five Deadly Venoms, his love for the Eddie Leeway versions of the songs, the rejection of not landing the Sepultura gig and much, much, MUCH more.A loaded episode that's been a long time coming. Thank you Jorge for joining us as we all celebrate 30 years of one of the best albums ever. It's another historic day on HardLore, as we're joined by Frank Novinec (AKA Florida Frank/Frank 3 Gun) of Hatebreed, and formerly of Ringworm, Integrity, Terror and more. We've often lauded him as having one of the best resumes in the history of the genre, and now we hear all about his introduction to music and eventually to hardcore. From raiding his parents' record collection, his lifelong connection with heavy metal (mostly KISS and Blue Oyster Cult), growing up in the Cleveland hardcore scene and starting RINGWORM, joining INTEGRITY during Systems Overload, playing TERROR while they were on the rise, all the way to now celebrating 20 years of being in HATEBREED.An amazing insight to one of our favorite guys. Enjoy._____________________• Join the HARDLORE PATREON to watch every single weekly episode early and ad-free, alongside exclusive monthly episodes.• Join the HARDLORE DISCORD.Cool links:• Get 10% off MILLS VINTAGE site-wide with code HARDLORE.• HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records STORE._____________________00:00:00 - Start00:01:00 - Hello Welcome, The Rays, The Broncos00:05:50 - Discovering Music in a Bad Environment00:13:41 - Meeting Human Furnace, Learning Guitar00:15:15 - Ringworm (Force of Habit)00:17:35 - The Ringworm Demo/The Promise00:26:47 - Joining Integrity00:29:56 - "Frank 3 Gun"00:36:37 - Birth Is Pain/Terror Split 7"00:41:37 - Integrity Warped Tour 199500:43:03 - Systems vs. Seasons00:45:56 - Pardon This Interruption...00:48:17 - Justice Replaced By Revenge00:53:26 - Joining & Leaving Terror01:00:30 - Joining Hatebreed01:04:30 - European Festival Crowds vs. Touring the States01:06:41 - Hatebreed Playing With Kiss01:14:27 - Kiss Collection01:15:41 - Type O Negative Kiss Parties01:18:53 - Frank Loves Disney Resorts (Hates Universal)01:21:20 - Hatebreed Writing Contributions01:22:24 - Favorite Hatebreed Songs to Play01:23:58 - Music Videos01:25:31 - New Hatebreed?01:26:28 - Food Frank01:33:25 - Supernatural Frank01:34:49 - Touring01:36:08 - Remaining Goals01:42:33 - Parting Words

We finally sit down with one of the greats at FYA Fest: Walter Schreifels of Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Youth of Today, Rival Schools and MANY more.In this long awaited discussion, we discuss the danger of NYHC in the 1980s and how surviving it to tell the tale was all just part of the fun that kept him coming back, Gorilla Biscuits being his first hardcore band/writing “Start Today” at 19 years old, the effect on his writing that being in Youth of Today had on him, expanding beyond hardcore for the first time with Quicksand, producing Title Fight’s “Shed” and much more.A true legend in hardcore, punk and beyond and we’re honored and grateful to have shred this time with him. Thanks to Walter and all of you. We're joined by one of the most iconic bass players in the history of hardcore music, Craig Setari AKA Craig Ahead of Straight Ahead and Sick of it All, and formerly of Youth of Today, Agnostic Front, Rest in Pieces and more.We talked in depth about the short history, but long legacy of Straight Ahead, including their upcoming reunion on April 25th, 2026, why he chose to quit Youth of Today, joining Agnostic Front for "One Voice," and ultimately his career defining role for over 30 years in SICK OF IT ALL.This is our first ever single full three hour sit down with a guest, and it’s for damn good reason. There are only so many pioneers of this genre, and Craig is one of the greatest to ever do it. Enjoy.______________________Cool links:• HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records store: https://hardlorepod.com• Get 15% off MILLS VINTAGE site-wide with code HARDLORE: https://www.millsvintageusa.com/• Get 15% off TIMELESS COFEE site-wide, including coffee subscriptions, cookies and cakes with code HARDLORE: https://timelesscoffee.com/____________________00:00:00 - Start00:02:39 - Young Craig Setari, Growing Up in Queens00:06:08 - Dan Lilker & Discovering Bass Guitar00:11:00 - Meeting Tommy Carroll00:12:09 - NYC Mayhem, The First Blast Beat00:22:26 - Straight Ahead (is back)00:29:06 - Straight Ahead Discography00:35:17 - Youth of Today, Playing on "Break Down The Walls"00:49:58 - Quitting Youth of Today00:53:41 - Recording "Breakaway"01:03:47 - Craig & Armand 40 Years Later, Looking Back at Straight Ahead01:08:52 - Daniel Rakowitz01:11:04 - Lower East Side01:18:48 - Straight Ahead Reunion in 1988, Pete's Sake Benefit Show01:22:34 - Joining Agnostic Front, Going in With Sneakers & Leaving With Boots01:34:27 - Pardon This Interruption...01:38:26 - "One Voice" & Matt Henderson01:46:18 - BJ Papas01:50:16 - Helping Sick of it All with "Blood, Sweat & No Tears"01:56:50 - Officially Joining Sick of it All02:01:48 - The Double Bass Strap02:06:02 - Scratch The Surface02:08:47 - Step Down Music Video02:16:46 - Europe Becoming the Hardcore Hub02:18:17 - Built To Last02:24:45 - MAFIA02:27:02 - Touring in 95-9902:27:57 - Call To Arms02:37:38 - Mobb Deep Using The Dragon02:40:21 - Big Foot02:46:36 - What's Changed for Sick of it All?02:55:59 - Modern Bands Carrying The Torch02:57:52 - Stand Out CBGB's Moment03:00:10 - Fast Food03:02:38 - Top 4 HC records

We're finally joined by Floorpunch vocalist Mark Porter for an in-depth, comprehensive conversation about the entire history of one of the best straight edge hardcore bands ever. From the first time Porter witnessed someone Floorpunching at a show, their initial formation after being collectively frustrated at a Snapcase show while lamenting what hardcore had become by 1995, all the way through to their legendary "last show" at CBGBs with Breakdown and the Cro-Mags.Grab your copy of Shining Life Press' incredible Floorpunch book, follow along with this extensive firsthand account of Floorpunch from 1995-2000 (and beyond) and enjoy this amazing episode with a bucket list guest for us and a band we love. _______________________Cool links: HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records store: https://hardlorepod.com Visit GUILTY PARTY, our favorite menswear store in North America and get 10% off site-wide with code HARDLORE: https://www.guiltyparty.co Try AG1 at DrinkAG1.com/HARDLORE to receive a free hat, flavor sampler kit, vitamin D/K drops, and an AGZ sample. We're joined by alternative music legend Anthony Green, former vocalist of Circa Survive & Saosin and currently of L.S. Dunes. We sit down in person on the S.S. Neverender to discuss his life in music, from being in bands like Jeer at Rome and Audience of One as a teenager, to joining and quickly quitting Saosin after leaving his permanent mark on the band and an entire genre, starting Circa Survive immediately upon returning home, their recent (definitive) break up, the unexpected shock of being asked to join L.S. Dunes, and battling addiction through it all/balancing fatherhood for the last 15 years. Thank you to Anthony for joining us and to all of you for watching this incredibly honest, thorough discussion with a truly one of a kind artist. ______________________ Edited by Steven Grise (@iamoneonenineseven) • Title sequence by Nicholas Marzluf (@marzluf) HardLore: A Knotfest Series Join the HARDLORE PATREON to watch every single weekly episode early and ad-free, alongside exclusive monthly episodes: https://patreon.com/hardlorepod Join the HARDLORE DISCORD: https://discord.gg/jA9rppggef Cool links: HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records store: https://hardlorepod.com Visit GUILTY PARTY, our favorite menswear store in North America and get 10% off site-wide with code HARDLORE: https://www.guiltyparty.co Try AG1 at DrinkAG1.com/HARDLORE to receive a free hat, flavor sampler kit, vitamin D/K drops, and an AGZ sample. We're joined in Cozumel, Mexico for a very special, long awaited conversation with Coheed & Cambria vocalist/guitarist: the great Claudio Sanchez. We discuss Claudio's journey through music discovery and picking up the guitar long before Coheed, how a trip to Paris birthed "The Amory Wars" concept, the real life events and tragedies that inspired each album's concept, existing outside of genres and scenes, the immediate impact of "Welcome Home" and the writing/recording processes from "The Second Stage Turbine Blade" all the way to "The Father of Make Believe" -- a truly phenomenal episode with one of modern music's greatest guitar players and songwriters. Thank you to Claudio for joining us and for having us on the S.S. Neverender. We are one among the fence.______________________ Edited by Steven Grise (@iamoneonenineseven) • Title sequence by Nicholas Marzluf (@marzluf) HardLore: A Knotfest Series Join the HARDLORE PATREON to watch every single weekly episode early and ad-free, alongside exclusive monthly episodes: https://patreon.com/hardlorepod Join the HARDLORE DISCORD: https://discord.gg/jA9rppggef Cool links: Get 15% off DUNABLE GUITARS with code HARDLORE from now until Christmas: https://dunableguitars.comGet 15% OFF @manscaped + Free Shipping with promo code HARDLORE at MANSCAPED.com! It’s that time of year… The wind is howling, the sky gets darker much earlier… What better way to wallow in the depths of Autumn's despair once again than by celebrating 40 of our favorite “feel bad” (depressing) albums of all time. We each picked 20 records, in no particular order until our respective Top 5s. Look to them in your darkest hour, and they will guide you where you need to go.Listen to the official companion playlist HERE:Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6844EhOesxZgkQUqLqd7TE?si=5b92cdb6b418482d______________________Edited by Steven Grise (@iamoneonenineseven) • Title sequence by Nicholas Marzluf (@marzluf) HardLore: A Knotfest Series .Join the HARDLORE PATREON to watch every single weekly episode early and ad-free, alongside exclusive monthly episodes: https://patreon.com/hardlorepod Join the HARDLORE DISCORD: https://discord.gg/jA9rppggef Cool links: HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records store: https://hardlorepod.com Get 15% OFF @manscaped + Free Shipping with promo code HARDLORE at MANSCAPED.com! #ad #manscapedpod____________FOLLOW HARDLORE: INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/hardlorepod/ TWITTER | https://twitter.com/hardlorepod SPOTIFY | https://spoti.fi/3J1GIrp APPLE | https://apple.co/3IKBss2FOLLOW COLIN: INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/colinyovng/ FOLLOW BO: INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/bosxe/ TWITTER | https://www.twitter.com/bosxe #HARDLORE #HARDCORE_____________00:00:00 - Start 00:00:58 - Introduction 00:02:54 - Crowbar - Sonic Excess In Its Purest Form 00:04:50 - The Cure - Disintegration 00:05:52 - Elliot Smith - Either/Or 00:07:33 - Paramore - Brand New Eyes 00:09:25 - Johnny Cash - American IV 00:11:17 - Tim Hecker - Harmony In Ultraviolet 00:12:58 - Colin's Type O Pick (we gotta wait) 00:13:21 - Fleetwood Mac - Self Titled 00:14:42 - Petal - Shame 00:15:56 - Turnover - Peripheral Vision 00:17:26 - Neurosis - The Eye of Every Storm 00:18:37 - Third Eye Blind - Self Titled 00:20:37 - Ethel Cain - Preachers Daughter 00:21:31 - Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile 00:23:10 - Depeche Mode - Songs of Faith & Devotion 00:24:23 - Converge - No Hero's 00:25:46 - 40 Watt Sun - Wider Than The Sky 00:27:26 - Beck - Sea Change00:28:57 - Mountain Goats - Tallahassee 00:30:07 - Townes Van Zandt - Self Titled 00:31:26 - Pardon This Interuption... 00:32:52 - Amigo The Devil - Everything Is Fine 00:34:06 - Chelsea Wolfe - Pain Is Beauty 00:35:36 - Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain 00:36:41 - Title Fight - Hyper View 00:39:09 - The Cranberries - To The Faithful Departed 00:40:34 - Bjork - Vespertine 00:43:00 - Type O Negative - World Coming Down 00:46:12 - Björn Olsson - The Lobster 00:47:50 - Crowbar - Odd Fellows Rest 00:50:20 - Jeff Buckley - Grace 00:52:02 - Saves The Day - Sound The Alarm 00:53:59 - Evoken - Atra Mors 00:55:55 - Citizen - Youth 00:58:12 - Morrissey - Vauxhall and I 01:00:21 - The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead 01:01:54 - Purple Mountains - Self-Titled 01:04:32 - Alice In Chains - MTV Unplugged 01:08:24 - Warning - Watching From A Distance

We're joined by Nancy Barile, award-winning author of "I'm Not Holding Your Coat", an insightful chronicle of her life as an OG Philadelphia/Boston punk who lived through the golden age of hardcore music as it evolved in real time before her eyes. The Ramones, Bad Brains, Misfits, Minor Threat, Black Flag... You name it, she saw it. We talk about the legendary brawl in Kensington, booking the infamous "Gathering of the Tribes" show, cold calling CBGBs to get bands booked, and bumping elbows with just about every legendary figure in hardcore punk, and much more. Her husband, the late great Al Barile of SSD, was a pioneer of the straight edge movement and a name brought up often on HardLore throughout the years. He sadly passed away in April of 2025, and we talk all about their chance meeting, his impact on us, and share stories of Al through the years and look back at his perception of how straight edge and hardcore music have grown since his early days in SSD. An incredibly informative and cathartic conversation and an episode we've wanted to make happen for a long time. Thank you Nancy for joining us and all of you for watching/listening. RIP Al Barile. ________________ Edited by Steven Grise (@iamoneonenineseven) • Title sequence by Nicholas Marzluf (@marzluf) HardLore: A Knotfest Series Join the HARDLORE PATREON to watch every single weekly episode early and ad-free, alongside exclusive monthly episodes: https://patreon.com/hardlorepod Join the HARDLORE DISCORD: https://discord.gg/jA9rppggef Cool links: HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records store: https://hardlorepod.com Try AG1 and AGZ at DrinkAG1.com/HARDLORE to receive a free frother. Jami Morgan of Code Orange & nowhere2run Productions returns to HardLore after 2+ years to talk about the gradual ending of the band after their latest album "The Above", 10 years of "I Am King", their disastrous last show at Download Fest, his recent work in music and film production with nowhere2run, and A LOT more.a 2+ hour hilarious, cathartic chat with a longtime friend of the show. This incredibly in-depth and open conversation is one that both fans and potential detractors of Jami's work will be bound to enjoy._______________________Edited by Steven Grise (@iamoneonenineseven) • Title sequence by Nicholas Marzluf (@marzluf)HardLore: A Knotfest SeriesJoin the HARDLORE PATREON to watch every single weekly episode early and ad-free, alongside exclusive monthly episodes: https://patreon.com/hardlorepodJoin the HARDLORE DISCORD: https://discord.gg/jA9rppggef____________Cool links:HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records store: https://hardlorepod.comGet 10% off Mills Vintage with code HARDLORE! https://www.millsvintage.com/Try AG1 at DrinkAG1.com/HARDLORE to receive a free 1-year supply of vitamin D and 5 travel packs of AG1.Get 20% OFF @manscaped + Free Shipping with promo code HARDLORE at MANSCAPED.com! #ad #manscapedpod________________FOLLOW JAMI:INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/morganjfaith/FOLLOW NOWHERE2RUN:INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/nowhere2runprod/FOLLOW HARDLORE:INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/hardlorepod/TWITTER | https://twitter.com/hardlorepodSPOTIFY | https://spoti.fi/3J1GIrpAPPLE | https://apple.co/3IKBss2FOLLOW COLIN:INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/colinyovng/FOLLOW BO:INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/bosxe/TWITTER | https://www.twitter.com/bosxe#HARDLORE #HARDCORE__________________________00:00:00 - Start00:03:26 - Working With Bray Wyatt00:08:59 - The Above00:16:53 - Gaining & Losing Fans00:27:27 - The Final Code Orange Performance00:32:38 - The End of Code Orange00:50:48 - Pardon This Interruption00:54:40 - Planning For The Future01:00:23 - Blood Rave01:08:29 - Wrestling Lingo01:10:59 - Motives Music Video01:15:26 - Evolution01:21:14 - New Bands That Jami Enjoys01:23:09 - Pittsburgh Hardcore in 202501:31:38 - Working With Billy Corgan01:35:44 - Top 4 Wrestling Belts of All Time01:45:56 - What Would You Still Like To Achieve?01:49:27 - Scoring "Violence"01:56:07 - Top 4 HC records

HardLore is awesome! 🎸 Great insights into hardcore and metal, plus behind-the-scenes stories from touring life — a must-listen for fans. https://elifesimulation.io/
That sounds like an intense and raw dive into the music scene! If you're ever looking to build content that ties into the grind and progression mentality—especially for players who thrive on structured leveling—I’d recommend checking out this https://herblorecalculatorosrs.vercel.app/. It’s a useful reference for understanding progress paths, not just in games, but metaphorically in life or even music journeys.
