“Long Live A$AP”

“Long Live A$AP”

2025-10-3145:01

It’s a Song of the Week! I am so excited to present to you this brand new music-centered feature on the show. Last year we had a blast (my word) listening to 300 albums and discussing them together. Ever since I have known that we were going to get back to holding space to talk specifically about music on the pod, regularly. And just about a year after we started that massive undertaking, the time is now!! So instead of album after album, we’re going to talk about ONE SONG AT A TIME. - This week’s TWENTY-SECOND installment song is by Artist: A$AP Rocky And is called “Long Live A$AP.” It’s from his debut studio album LONG.LIVE.A$AP. You can listen to the song and watch the video here: https://youtu.be/BysVzAnR9MY?s... And you can almost always grab a preview on my IG @whereschloe; it’s up on the profile. - There is no hierarchy; these songs are going to be in basically a random order, chosen for reasons that I’ll most likely expound upon within the episode. Along with an array of background, inspirations, time frame, album order, cultural context, related themes, personal experiences, etc. Any genre artist decade that I would listen to is up for grabs and who’s to know what will be next and why? ;) Remember your favorites. Discover something new. One song of the week at a time for however long works. I’m ELATED that you’re along for the ride, C
Let’s hear from some Neurodivergent adults about how challenging it can be to make friends. And then jump back into practical tips to make it feel more accessible to make genuine friendships a reality. I’m so glad you’re here! C

Trauma survivors are everywhere. You may even be one yourself and if you aren’t, then you almost certainly know one. What are little ways that the evidence of this trauma (or the work of healing being done) can still manifest themselves days weeks months years or even decades later? It’s important to be aware of for your benefit, and for the benefit of those around you. “We can do hard things!” :) We have already. Thanks so much for still being here; you’re not alone, C

Or it COULD be. We’re taking a look a minimalism as a template for the larger function of adjusting your space - and your life - in ways that can better suit you. Plus the people, plants, and animals around you. I’m glad you’re here, one day at time, C

And just about a year after we started that massive undertaking, the time is now!! So instead of album after album, we’re going to talk about ONE SONG AT A TIME. - This week’s TWENTY-FIRST installment song is by Artist: The Beatles And is called “Getting Better.” It’s from their eighth studio album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. You can listen to the song here: https://youtu.be/EGlo9LzmOME?s... You can listen to the album just about anywhere; if you’ve never heard it straight through, please delve in :) And you can almost always grab a preview on my IG @whereschloe; it’s up on the profile. - There is no hierarchy; these songs are going to be in basically a random order, chosen for reasons that I’ll most likely expound upon within the episode. I know it can feel like you can’t be “picky” with the work you do “in this economy” but is it truly necessary to devalue your physical and mental health, your equilibrium, your joy, your skills, your talents, yourself? Hours and hours a day, week in/week out, for years and years on end. Sigh. I understand financial necessity-believe me, I do. But quality of life is a necessity too and we have been led to believe that anything can be sacrificed if the price is right. Which might not be the case for you. Gain the whole world and lose your own soul? Not today. Take care of yourself (and others) as best you can, C
“Perfection does not exist in humanity.” We’re talking about what excellent parenting can look like and the benefits of it! - (Please forgive the cut off. Technology isn’t always on my side lol. Thank you for sharing this space with me from a place of grace) - PLEASE NOTE: I did not say PERFECT parenting. It is an acquirable skill, even if you didn’t experience it, and it’s something you can always get better at. That’s not an indictment or a threat; it’s an encouragement and an opportunity! Even if you don’t have kids, there can be words here for you. So pleased you’re here, C

Emotional depth can be challenging in human interactions. It can feel dangerous in a place where you are supposed to be able to find safety- Which can lead to superficial interactions with so many people that you ultimately end up feeling alone, even though you seem social and well connected. Not everyone should have access to the true depth of you. But the right people can. In hope, C

We’re still talking about the ND of it all. =) And having a grand old time doing it! There are friends out there for everyone, and everyone includes you. Let’s look at specific ways to get started. You can do this! C
Get your internal motivation up! Oh man, don’t you struggle sometimes with getting things done that you need to do but don’t want to do? I DO. Big time. So how can we counter it?? There are ways. Ooh lala Deeply appreciate you being here, C
There are events that are always, in some way or another, a part of human lives. And the celebration of two people choosing to affirm their commitment to one another, known colloquially as a wedding, is one of them! In times of feast or famine, chaos or calm, ideal or challenging circumstances, people will get married. But this increasingly pervasive sentiment that your wedding has to be an event of monumental proportions is not conducive to everyone’s time, energy, or finances. Nor does it have to be! You can plan a beautiful, meaningful, memorable experience for the two of you and your potential guests without breaking yourself, your partner, or the bank. (Ooh we might have to talk about this one again) Thanks tons for being here, C
